Chiefs buzz: Croyle lacking game action
Chiefs buzz: Croyle lacking game action
Practice isn’t like a game Quarterback Brodie Croyle hasn’t played in a game since the preseason and now will probably start Sunday’s game against the Chargers in place of Matt Cassel. As much practice as the Chiefs give Croyle — it’s a considerable amount this week, but normally not much — practice isn’t the same as a game because it’s conducted at a much slower speed. The Chiefs in recent weeks had several chances to get Croyle playing time. They fell hopelessly behind the Broncos in Denver a month ago and since then held sizable leads against the Cardinals and Seahawks in the fourth quarter. In each case, coach Todd Haley kept Cassel in the game. “With where you are in some of those games, you’re not going to be throwing the football,” Haley said. “I don’t know that you’re not getting some of the same things in practice.” Cassel didn’t practice again Thursday after having an appendectomy a day earlier. Unless the Chiefs break one of Haley’s rules, Cassel would have to practice today to play in San Diego. “The policy is you have to have some semblance of practice,” Haley said. “We’ll see as the week plays out exactly where we are. Right now we’ve got two days under our belt, and we’ve got two more left.” Getting the ball to Bowe The Chiefs failed to get the ball to wide receiver Dwayne Bowe in last week’s game against Denver, and it’s probably no coincidence they scored only 10 points in beating the Broncos. The Chargers undoubtedly took note of the connection and will probably make a similar effort to take Bowe out of the game. “That can’t be something that we allow to happen one way or another,” Haley said. “It’s our job as coaches to find ways to help the receivers. It’s the receiver’s duty to continue to step his game up against the competition and make plays. That’s what I fully expect from Dwayne. He’s trying to continue to make steps to being a really good player in the league, and this is the next step for him, going against really good competition that knows he’s one of the guys that gets the football a bunch.” Wiegmann can relate Center Casey Wiegmann missed the final exhibition game and the regular-season opener in 2001 after having an appendectomy in a procedure similar to Cassel’s. “It took me a couple of weeks,” Wiegmann said. “They didn’t want to rush me back too fast. I could have played in one week, but they just didn’t want to risk it for the rest of the year.” Injury report The Chiefs made one change to their practice report. They said reserve defensive back Donald Washington (ankle) was limited in practice. He didn’t practice the day before. Safety Kendrick Lewis (ankle) was also limited. Cassel was the only other player listed, and he didn’t practice because of what the Chiefs continued to call an illness. |

I did watch, but did erase the DVR before watching it again. I don't slam my finger in the door intentionally either.
Usually I appreciate and agree with your takes and I am clearly not infallable, so I went back and checked the play by play. I think somewhere in the middle might be correct as we may see the same thing differently. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/playbyp...Id=20101114007 first four possessions, after that the game was over, 35-0. We should be able to agree on that, correct? It was 7 -0 prior to the first possession. 1st possession Cassel 1 for 2, 1 first down now 14-0 2nd possession, Cassel 0 for 1, 3 and out now 21-0 3rd possession , Cassel 4 for 4, 1 for no gain, sacked twice now 28-0 4th possession, Cassel 3 for 4, sacked twice, fumble to make it 35-0 It would have been nice if he had led them to a score the first two possessions, but clearly the defense was worse than pathetic. |

The Cassel versus Croyle debate is moot for one reason and one reason alone. Croyle can't stay healthy so that ends that debate. Talent wise they are very close and Croyle has a better arm, mechanics and pocket presence but Cassel has more prototypical size and he is working and getting better in all 3 of those aforementioned categories so there is no debate here. The Cassel homers just don't like the fact that most of the arguements they used for Cassel these past 2 years could be used for Croyle as well if not for his Olive Oil build. |

Cassel made 843 Billion throws either into the dirt, coverage, or geosynchronous orbit this year. 843 Billion.

If Croyle wins this game, I wonder what Tardian will do.
He will have won a more substantial game than Cassel has in his entire pro career. |

Goddamn, dude, I expect this tripe from mental midgets like Pawntard, but you? How can you sit there and think that people root for their starting QB to fail?

You think OTVagPath58 doesn't root for Cassel to fail? Mecca? Hamas? Regardless of what they ****ing say they squeal like ****ing pigs when Cassel doesn't throw for 350 for 900 TD's and no picks. Proof is in the pudding. As soon as Cassel started doing well OTVagP58 went away and so did Mecca. There are others as well. |

My guess is he will laugh at you when Croyle's ass hits the bench after such a 'substantial' win.

In fact, OTWP58 made that pretty clear after attending one of the games, and so has Hamas. The fact that they are realists, does not make them haters of the team success. My take on Mecca, he might be trying to make a living as it is pretty tough out there right now. |

Also, you don't need to end every single one of your posts with a "so **** off dipshit" or "go **** a blender" or "eat camel shit and die" like it's a form of punctuation. We get it. You're big, strong, and angry. |
