That actually rarely works.

The deadspin guys will toss a pretty hearty "go **** yourselves" to anyone that threatens to lawyer up unless that threat is followed by "I was 15 when that picture was taken and here is my license to prove it...."

What they put up there is public domain (afterall, they were ****ing in a parking lot), there's no way they pulled it down because someone sent a lawyer email.

Well, they were definitely over the age of consent. And over the legal limit too, probably.

So ... if they weren't threatened with some sort of legal action, why would they take it down?

May just be a server error or something. It's probably something quite benign.

Even when they take stuff down, they usually just remove the picture, leave the post and put an "UPDATE" where they explain the situation.

If Deadspin got pushed around that easily, it wouldn't exist. Let's face it, Deadspin broke the Favre/Sterger matter and the Favre cockshots were a hell of lot more troublesome than this thing and they're up there to this very day.
