You forgot about Charles' kickoff return for a TD. Can't remember if one of Studebaker's interceptions went for a TD or not. We had a lot of help from big plays to win that one.

I don't know what some were watching. For me it was painful. The only positive thing he did was hold onto the ball. He does a lot of things better than Cassel, which is embarrassing considering the lack of experience Palko has. We won today because their QB struggled more than ours did. He wasn't moving the ball. The team averaged 5.2 YPA, very Cassel-like numbers. We punted 11 times. He was replaced in the middle of the game only to come back due to injury. I can't watch more of Tyler Palko.

And our defense is playing lights out since then too. It may not be a coincidence. I belive this team was closer to quiting on Cassel than they are to quiting on Palko. Both sides of the ball. Last edited by Coogs; 12-04-2011 at 10:56 PM.. |

A change at quarterback can mean as much to a team as it does to a fanbase. I firmly believe that every player on the Chiefs was reaching the end of their rope for Cassel. I'll bet that if you took an anonymous poll of the players, they'd vote him off the team entirely ... or, at least as a starter. It seems to me it would be very difficult to get up for the game week after week when you know in your heart that your quarterback is a certified, gold-star doofus. Professional sports teams function at a high level depending on a variety of factors. There's money. There's pride. There's competitive nature. There's purple drank. There's self-preservation. There's the roar of the crowd and the smell of the grease paint. There's all that stuff. Win or lose, you're going to get paid, but I think a lot of these guys would just as soon win and anything a staff can do to make them believe they have a chance is a net positive. A change at quarterback is one of those things. FAX |
