One positive would be that the team would be prepared. Also, the offensive line would know their assignments and play very well. With the talent and strengths of the team, that would be huge right now. Also, Stanzi would probably get a shot, and he hasn't been afraid of a QB controversy.

He's a field general, who takes 2 and 3 star recruits and turns them into NFL starters. Coaches OL like it's nobodies business, not to mention turns out TE's and LB's consistently. Trusts his coaches. Always, ALWAYS has good coaches around him, and lets them do their jobs.

I fully admit my college football stupidity here so somone please guide me. Iowa isn't even a premiere college program are they? I mean I don't follow the college game but I'm in the freakin media and I see sports news of all types every day and I can't say I've EVER seen Iowa highly ranked or touted at all... and I live in a state bordering Iowa lol.
Correct me if I'm wrong on this and tell me why their coach would be regarded a good NFL HC candidate.

They were talking about this on the radio today. This would not be a shock but would be a terrible decision. I'll take Romeo over this guy.

I just want a guy who has actually been a part of the NFL. Maybe I'm just gunshy but I see too many college coaches come up and coach in the NFL as their first job and fall flat on their face. Then again maybe this guy is what we need as to an extent, coaching is coaching and if you're good at it then you're good at it. But I just think there is a huge difference between coaching a bunch of kids, most who have no chance at a career in the NFL and coaching a team of professionals.

I'm not too familiar with Ferentz so someone educate me more, please. Does Iowa run a pro-system? I know they beat MU but that was more on Gabbert as opposed to Iowa.
I am just nervous about brining up a college level coach. Pete Carrol and the Fun-N-Gun guy come to mind everytime I think about it. |
