Not sure how you figure that.

Missouri is around 6 million people. 2.5 million live in the MO suburbs of St. Louis. 1 million live in the MO suburbs of Kansas City. 0.5 million live in the Springfield area.

Almost 70 percent of the state lives in a metropolitan area. That just SCREAMS rural.

You're right about Kansas, though. Get outside of Johnson County, and it's about as rural as it gets (save for the monstrous metropolis that is Wichita).

Most of Kansas is rural land... most of Missouri is rural land. Missouri has more people in bigger cities. I guess that's a bragging right for the purposes of this topic.

A lot larger chunk of the states of California, Texas, Florida, New York is metropolitan than any midwestern state... that's what I was saying basically. I doesn't matter. No one thinks of any "fly over" state as being metropolitan.

Actually people come to Missouri to vacation as well, Kansas they fly over. No one goes to Manhattan, KS unless

A. They go to KSU
B. They are in the Army and are stationed at Ft Riley.

Congrats. Missouri is right up there with Hawaii, Florida and California. Too touristy for me thank you.

Never put them up with Hawaii, Florida, or California. BUT....... I am also not lowering them to the level of KS either. Now if I was saying that Missouri was basically the same as one of those states, then I would be wrong and overly "homer-istic".

I know but again I was just being an extremist and contributing to the essense of the thread/arguement. It's what we "sides" do right...

Agreed, but the thread would die without people taking sides on a discussion and keeping it going. I respect you have pride in your state and are willing to go to extremes to defend it.
