I think Pioli is good at everything except evaluating quarterback talent. . . which is kind of like having a mechanic who's good at everything but fixing engines.

there is no simple answer

1. his drafts and ability to craft contracts are looking better and better...honestly, some of these contracts are ridiculous and it makes me wonder if he slips GHB to agents

2. his investment in Cassel, and worse his complacency with the QB position, is unforgivable...

3. we still don't know about his ability to hire a coach: Haley was a dumpster fire, and Crennel - while admired, and a great DC - has a history of failure as a HC

so in one area he's great, in a second he's an absolute failure, and in a third he's still a question mark...
