Even though I give some of you young guys shit I have to hand it to Royals fans under 30. You guys have never really seen any good times (you were too young if you're under 30-35) but here you are watching and hoping and getting pissed off. I was born a month after we won it in '85. I've never seen a truly good team. I'm diehard, but it's strange, because my relationship with the Royals isn't the same as with the Chiefs or my other sports teams. I go into each NFL season with at least a glimmer of hope that the Chiefs can make it to the Super Bowl...but with the Royals, I've never really felt that. It's more of a game to see how long we can hold out before the season's officially a lost cause...which usually doesn't take long. I almost think it would be weird for them to be successful.

Believe it or not it's still weird for me to see the Royals keep struggling for so long. They were great in my formative years and they should still be great in my mind. It's like a really elongated speed bump. I hope they become what they used to be again... not just for me but for all of you young'ins that take the time to care the last 26 years. It'll be worth the wait.

Btw I was born one month after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.
