Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

It's not that far fetched though. If Cassel plays like he did vs the Raiders or Ravens in 2010 the Chiefs will lose. If he plays like he did vs Buffalo, Detroit, Denver and Miami last year the Chiefs will lose.

Consistently inconsistent. He's gonna have some horrible games, some good games, and some meh games. We all know this.
He's not gonna have games like that every week, no matter how bad we all hate him.
That's like saying we could go undefeated because if he plays every game like he did vs. TN(when he had Charles)we will win them all.
We all know what we're getting from Cassel.

Even by Cassel standards yeah he had some really bad games last season. I just have to think that without Haley screaming at him and getting plays in with 5 seconds he will be better than that maybe back to 2010 form.

I don't think we can underestimate the negative effect of the logisitics of their play calling last season. We know Cassel isn't the most adept at reading defenses so it surely made it even harder on him to only get to see the pre-snap defensive lineup for a few seconds. Also having Charles will make any QB look better.

Play calling had nothing to do with it. Play calling will always be limited when you have a limited QB. Teams figured out Cassel and the end of 2010 that carried over to 2011.

By "2010 form" you mean a bunch of games under 200 yards, horrid completion percentage, terrible yards/attempt, and a no-read passing offense that took very few shots downfield that helped generate an artifically inflated TD/INT ratio thanks to short TD passes after the running game chewed up yardage. In other words, the exact same QB that he's always been, and will always be, but with a TD smokescreen.

Wrong. Like I have said before, if you go back and look at my posts, I just moan about how winning is ruining our draft position, and we're not going to win shit.

And lo and behold, we didn't win shit.

This schedule is not easier.

And you can't expect the Chiefs to get through the whole year injury free.

What if Albert has to miss a few games? Yikes...thanks Pioli, for building a roster with zero depth!

Remember, last year we racked up wins against:

Tim Tebow
Caleb Hanie
Curtis Painter
Kyle Boller
Donovan McNabb's corpse

And we lucked into a win over the Chargers on Monday night.

Five wins against quarterbacks who shouldn't be starting in the NFL, and a miracle, are not likely to happen again.

We were 7-9, but we were not close to as good as that record indicates, as pathetic as that sounds.

This year:

Matt Ryan
Drew Brees
Philip Rivers x2
Peyton Manning x2
Joe Flacco
Ben Roethlisberger
Cam Newton

We'll win, at most, 3 of those games.

Every single one of those games is eminently winnable. Even with Matt Halfassel.

Spoken like a true homer.

We are going to get eviscerated by the Saints, Steelers and Ravens, and at least one game against Denver. And I bet San Diego just tans our hide at their place on MNF.

The Saints will be without their head coach all year, and who knows how many position guys. I don't really see them doing much of anything this year.

Ravens and Steelers could be great again. Or those defenses could show their age.

San Diego and Denver are divisional opponents. Never know whats gonna happen there.
