Franchised #Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe has signed his franchise tender. #ChiefsCamp

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Friday that WR Dwayne Bowe has signed his franchise tender.

Bowe has played in 75 career games (70 starts) for the Chiefs with 356 catches for 4,927 yards and 36 touchdowns during his five-year career. He has led the Chiefs in receptions and receiving yards in each of the past three seasons.

In his last two seasons, Bowe has caught 153 passes for 2,321 yards and 20 TDs. In 2011, he notched 81 receptions for 1,159 yards and five TDs. During the 2010 season, he recorded 72 catches for a career-best 1,162 yards and a franchise-record 15 TDs, a mark that led the NFL and included a stretch of seven consecutive games with a TD reception to set a team record. He earned second-team All-Pro honors and was selected to the Pro Bowl following his 2010 campaign.

His 356 receptions rank seventh in team history and his 4,927 receiving yards rank eighth in club annals. With 36 touchdown catches, he ranks fifth in Chiefs history while his 73 catches of 20-plus yards are third-most in franchise record books.

The Miami, Fla., native originally entered the NFL as Kansas City’s first-round selection (23rd overall) in the 2007 NFL Draft. He was a first-team All-SEC selection at LSU, where he caught 154 passes for 2,403 yards and a school-record 26 TDs.

Just thinking about it, it's funny that at the end of last season we were all excited about the Chiefs' defense and it's now the offense that is, for a lack of a better word, awesome.

Pioli made some of the best off season moves this past year that I've ever seen in terms of addressing the weak spots of the team, particularly the offense. Winston, Boss, Hillis. Those three guys replace the weakest spots from last year and upgrade them to near All-Pro level.

I shit you not, the Chiefs are going to shove the ball down peoples throats this year. One of the best offensive units, on paper, that I've ever seen. If the interior line guys "get it," this offense is scary good. (And the defense and special teams, which were the strong point of the team, should be even better than last year with the development and growth guys like Houston, Arenas, Belcher, Brown, etc.)

Shit. These guys are giving me optimism.

I totally missed this about last season. You talking about field goals? Or the coverage side of ST? Surely not our punt returns.

My brain is too used to seeing punt returns that go the wrong way. I'm glad I'm wrong.
