I think Pioli and Hunt really tried to get a hold of Manning but Elway got him sooner and once Peyton and Elway met, I'm sure Elway did everything possible to make sure he didn't go to the chiefs (i.e talk shit about the organization, Pioli, team) and it just enhanced Mannings hatred of KC even more. Broncos don't have one single player with the level of talent Charles or Bowe has. Even our D is better, I truly believe this wasn't cause of Pioli or Hunt, Manning just hates the chiefs, he grew up hating them. From reports I've read, the Chiefs were the first team to reach out to Peyton and the next was the Seahawks.
