The cap hit for any given year = base salary for THAT year + any current, applicable bonuses (roster, participation, etc.) + prorated portion of signing bonus.

EDIT: In other words, the chances of someone trading for Cassel is less than zero because he's hitting the two highest base salary years of his contract.

This site says his most expensive years were 2009-2011. This year and next year are the cheapest while 2014 is a year with a higher cap hit.

He's still too expensive for a team not trading for a starter. I can't see any team in the league interested in that.
