NHL and NHLPA reach an agreement - lockout FINALLY over
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...cba-framework/
NHL lockout: Owners, players reach tentative agreement on CBA framework After more than 16 consecutive hours of bargaining on the 113th day of the lockout, the NHL and NHLPA reached a tentative agreement on the framework of a new collective bargaining agreement around 5 a.m. Sunday. “We have reached an agreement on the framework of a new collective bargaining agreement, the details of which need to be put to paper,” NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said during a news conference, standing next to NHLPA Executive Director Donald Fehr. “We’ve got to dot a lot of I’s and cross a lot of T’s,” Bettman said. “There’s still a lot of work to be done, but the basic framework of the deal has been agreed upon.” The deal still requires ratification from the players and the NHL’s Board of Governors before it becomes official, but the league is expected to play a 50- or 48-game season that starts no later than Jan. 19. |

Well I don't follow hockey but I live in a city that has hockey and would like to go to some games. Just curious how much of the season has been missed and how many games will this season be?

Man, I liked the Kings being defending Stanley Cup Champions for 2 years. Oh well, I'm happy for the people down the food chain who were hurting. And I enjoy hockey, so it's all good.

OH REJOICE!!!!
watching hockey on TV blows......going to live games is a lot of fun. wish KC would have gotten the Penguins... would have enjoyed that more than a NBA team. Though the Thunder would be cool too.

About half the season has been missed, they are talking anywhere from 46-52 games this season.

I admit I'm happy the NHL is back but I admit I'm not happy how quickly they go into lockouts. It just seems like the other day the NHL had a lockout (which caused ESPN to drop the NHL) and now only a short time later to have another one that nearly cost everyone yet another season.
I heard they will likely have a 48 game season now (like the end of the article stated). I'm just glad it is over and hockey is back. |

I remember when this shit happened in baseball, thereafter I hated the sport even though it was my favorite as a kid. Still hate baseball to this day because of it, I can't be arsed to care.
