Dog runs over and kills his owner...with the owner's own van!

A Florida man passed away after his dog jumped into a vehicle, pushed down on the accelerator and ran him over.

James Campbell, 68, was sitting in the passenger's side of a van Monday afternoon while his wife, 56-year-old Iris Fortner, was behind the wheel, according to the Associated Press.

As Fortner backed the car into the driveway of the couple's Cantonment home, Campbell stepped out to open a gate so that the vehicle could get in. His wife opened the car door to see where Campbell was standing, when the couple's pet, a large Boxer bull dog, jumped into the car and onto the accelerator.

Fortner was unable to stop the van before it backed over her husband.
Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene, the Pensacola News Journal reported, while Fortner suffered minor injuries.

Fortner is not facing charges.

A Florida man enraged over a dispute with his girlfriend allegedly bit the woman's thumb off and spit it out while driving to a Taco Bell, polices say.

Ricardo Marquis Davis, 35, was chauffeuring his girlfriend to work Wednesday evening when an argument between the couple escalated, WFTV reports.

“During the course of the drive down to work they got into a verbal argument, and she basically became upset. She kind of pushed his head, and he responded by biting [her thumb]." Palm Bay police spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez said, according to WKMG.
The girlfriend was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center.

“The nurse advised [the victim] was treated for a severed left thumb, and that the woman continued to say, 'I can’t believe he bit my finger off,’” Martinez said.

Davis, of Palm Bay, confessed to biting off his girlfriend's finger and spitting it onto the floorboard. Doctors were not able to reattach the thumb, WESH reports.
Davis is charged with aggravated battery.
