1) You need a franchise QB to win a Super Bowl.

2) Alex Smith is not a franchise QB.

3) As long as Alex Smith is our QB, we will not win a Super Bowl.

This is how I see things, so I'm not going to get too excited about us possibly going 10-6 and losing 17-13 in the wildcard round of the playoffs.
