You have this completely backwards. Short contracts with a ton of guaranteed money are impossible to get out of.

You think that it's easier to cut a guy and have to eat a $30,000,000 cap hit just to save $5,000,000 in salary than it is to cut a guy who has a back-loaded deal and less guaranteed money (small cap hit)? That's insane.
