That's not entirely true.

A lisfranc injury can involve a break, but it doesn't have to. The lisfranc region is that spot at the middle/top of your foot where all those little bones hook together. My recollection is that Garrison Hurst broke those bones; his was a 'break' style of lisfranc injury.

But Darren McFadden? His was a sprain. MJD? He never broke anything either. Matt Spaeth just went down 8-10 weeks with a lisfranc sprain.

"Foot sprain" is a plenty spooky diagnosis, folks.
