Geno Smith vs Alex Smith - It's on.

It's on now. Geno Smith is probably going to be starting for the Jets this season.

Alex Smith will be the Chiefs QB for the forseeable future. If he's a success, we'll probably get five good years out of him.

So who's gonna win more NFL games over that time period?

Put your ten pounders on the table and make a vote

Alex: 11 wins
Geno: 8 wins

I didn't make any predictions. Tim Brady wasn't drafted in the first. He's just one example...

And of course a game like this is Alex Smith's fault when he attempted only 24 passes.
The Ravens tied a franchise record with 9 sacks against the 49ers Thursday night. Five of the Ravens' sacks came when they sent 5 or more pass rushers. Eight of the Ravens' 9 sacks also came with 5 or more defensive backs on the field.
Also 12 QB hits by the Ravens.

Eli's 316 Yards in that game? WOW

His YPA was the same as 2011 Blaine Gabbert.

His yards per completion was just ahead of 2011 Christian Ponder.

Eli Manning didn't miss any chances to make plays with his 26 incompletions? He was lucky 1 or 2 weren't INTs.

And the Giants punter didn't have 12 punts.

The conditions for offense was bad. The weather was bad and the defenses were on their A games.

Both QBs did the bare minimum.

The Giants were 22% likely to win as they were punting in the 4th, It glances off a leg. They recover and are 46% likely to win.
2nd fumble spikes from 52% to 95%.

Of the four plays that increased New York’s win probability the most, Manning was a part of zero. Of the eight plays that decreased New York’s win probability the most, Manning was a part of six.
This shit again? Quarterback stats never tell the true story.

Eli Manning drove the offense down the field when they needed him to and made this third downs.

Honestly, end of story.

The Giants’ QB battled vs. a defense in San Fran that hits, tackles with power and collapses the pocket. Manning targeted Cruz in the middle of the field, got the ball to Mario Manningham on the skinny post vs. a single high safety look and finished with 316-yards and 2 TDs to earn his second trip to the Super Bowl. And he did it vs. pressure from one of the best defensive front sevens in the NFL. I saw a QB that was once again in control of the game plan.
Breaking down NFL Championship Game:

Fast Google - I must admit that I did read past the first paragraph - what's the use?

Alex Smith has a new team and new head coach...I would focus on that...

Edit: Who is ViporVisor? Chiefs fan or 49ers fan?

I hope he is not a 49ers fan - I do not take kindly to their whiny BS.

Frank Gore ran for 1200 yards with 8 TDs.

How soon you forget HOW the 49ers got those 13-wins. Dave Akers, the FG kicker, won more games than Alex did, by a long shot.

Yeah, lets not forget.

Braylon Edwards, cut mid season.
Josh Morgan, hurt in garbage time against the Buccs.

Don't forget to mention that little thing known as the lockout........new coaching. Nah, none of that mattered. Just all Alex Smith huh?

No dropped passes? No missed blocks? Chilo Rachal must be a hall of famer huh?

For a guy, who claims to be glad of being rid of Alex Smith, and hated talking about him, you spend an awful lot of time trying to run him into the ground.

Yeah, Alex Smith is not a great player, but for you to say that he had nothing to do with that 13-3 record, like him running camp Alex and giving the team a jump start on the playbook didn't help with that, nor the 6 come from behind victories that season, is just more propaganda from you in your hypocritical evaluation and biased opinion. You love Kaep, you don't like Alex Smith, so every piece of filth that comes out of your mouth is worthless.

And yes, I am talking strictly football.

Crabtree didn't take part in Camp Alex, Crabtree didn't take part in preseason, Crabtree got hurt week one, and didn't play week two.

Vernon Davis himself said he didn't know the play book till week 10.

You seemed to of left out an entire lot of variables to why the offense might of been slower than a defense that was absolutely STACKED.

But, I know the answer to this. Any qb could of done what Alex Smith did.

Any qb could of run Camp Alex, limited the turnovers, and run an offense that was pathetically weak at wide receiver. That's why the 49ers the last two years have been trying their best to find receivers.....

This isn't personal, this is just truth, something you conveniently always leave out.

In the end, all Alexcuses.

Sometimes communication on the internet seems just futile.

Somebody gives the lion's share of credit to Alex Smith for a 13 win season.

Somebody else gives Alex some but lesser credit, a minor role.

Somebody else says that guy gave Alex no credit.

It is like nobody listens to anybody.

Shakes head. Yet if anyone was to blame Kaepernick for the failure that was last season, you guys would throw a fit. I guess we call those Kaepexcuses.

The bottom line is that no player has ever been responsible for the success or failure of an entire team.

There are no Alexcuses here. I willingly admit that his limited ability set back some of offense. But every other reason, not excuse that I provided is valid.

And I don't care that you wont acknowledge it.

Just with your view of Alex Smith, then Kaepernick was the reason the 49ers lost their first super bowl.....Congrats. We have had two failures at qb the past two years. lets just hope Kaepernick can make a 5 yard pass this year.
