I think that if Idzik cans Ryan sooner rather than later (I thought he was a dead man walking to start the season anyway), that will give Geno and Sanchez a better chance to become decent NFL players. Right now, Ryan is the epicenter of a media hurricane with his latest tirade and they, the media, are starting to circle the carcass like a flock of hungry vultures.

They need to get Ryan out and a lower profile guy in there asap so the team can just focus on football rather than Rex's love of himself in front of a camera. They'd also love to dump Sanchez and all his stupidity (hooking up with an 18 year old high schooler, the butt fumble, the pants down boogaloo, etc.), but former GM Tannenbaum screwed that up with one of the worst contract albatrosses in the NFL.

Actually, I think that they really wanted Garrad to come in and be able to take over initial starter duties for the first half of the season or so then hand the reigns over to Geno. However, David pulled himself out due to his back and they were stuck with Ryan, Sanchez and a rookie QB in Geno.

The Jets need to move on and Ryan needs to be canned as soon as possible for that to happen.

This goes back to my point about Genos biggest problem is his head, attitude. If he would of slayed his interviews pre draft, he might be in a better situation than he is. If he would of blown teams away with more than just his arm, maybe he would of been 1st round worthy and someone other than NY would of taken him. But he showed something that teams didn't want, and I bet it had nothing to do with talent, and now he's in NY instead of Jax, Buffalo, AZ etc...places he might have a chance.

It's just as Much his fault that he's going to have a huge uphill battle in the NFL as it is The Jets.

I am no fan of Geno, but Peyton Manning looked like crap his first season as well. Is Geno the next Peyton? Nope, not even close but I will reserve judgement on him till at least a couple of seasons.
