Dude, Robert Meachem can't beat out the trash they have in SD. He wouldn't beat anyone out here. McCluster, Hemingway and probably even Jenkins would start in San Diego.

These are San Diegos receivers:

Malcom Floyd
Vincent Brown
Keenan Allen
Eddie Royal
Seyi Ajirotutu
Richard Goodman

If he can't beat them out, he's pretty terrible.

Now this shit.

Giving up two second rounders, which according to the "Value Chart" for a player is akin to a mid-first rounder. If your dumbass wants to go on a record and say that Alex Smith won't be worth two hypothetical players, so be it.

It certainly doesn't make you correct and if one considers your track record, I'd say it's highly unlikely that you're even in the ballpark of being "right".
So the report that no other team was willing to give up a 2nd for Alex Smith means nothing?

We gave up possibly double that. There was a bidding war for Alex Smith, but everything points to teams saying "**** that" when the Niners put up the initial asking price.

So why did Dorsey pay what he did?

Christ, I've never seen you so protective of a player so ordinary as Alex Smith. It's downright creepy.

FWIW, McCluster has more receptions than Brown, Allen, Ajirotutu, and Goodman combined. About 3 times more.

Yet Meachem can't beat them out.

Link to that report?

Seeing as how we gave up 2 picks and how there was only 1 QB drafted in the 1st round, I really doubt we were the only team that offered more than a 2nd. Unless the other teams that didn't have QBs and didn't plan on drafting QBs (at least 4 or 5 other teams) sat around twiddling their thumbs at the the best QB available, there was a bidding war IMO.

You're a ****ing dumbass. Link us to any post in which I've been "protective" of Alex Smith.

Your ass is cooked, Mother****er. You can no longer invoke the name "Geno Smith" and garner rep and support. You've been exposed as the fraud you've always been.

But at least before 2012, no one noticed.

Those days are over.

At that point no other teams needed a QB - save the Raiders and maybe Arizona - the Raiders were already hot for Flynn (who is rumored to be on the trading block again BTW) and Arizona had already givin up a 2nd rounder for Kolb which didn't work out - they were probably gun shy - and that is it - no one else really had a QB need that they weren't willing to draft for.

And Robert Meachem isn't known for being good. He had 14 receptions last year. He just happened to have success in NO because of Drew Brees and Sean Payton. The highest drafted WR on the Saints was drafted in the 4th round, yet Drew Brees is cranking out 5000 yard 40 touchdown seasons like it's nothing. He makes those receivers, including Colston, look 100x better than they really are.

Also Dane, you can go **** yourself.

Die in a fire. Get AIDS. Oh, and seek help.

I might advise that you put me on ignore, because I'm no longer going to hold back when you open your fake ****ing mouth. Hardly a man of your word. Then again this is the same guy with a family of his own who would verbally go after the child of a well-respected member of this place.

I was perfectly content to ignore you, but you couldn't ****ing resist, could you? You're such a neurotic gasbag.

Just curious, what is your issue, if any, with Hemingway? I think he was a good keep and could see significant snaps this year.

Did somebody throw up the Dane Signal? A criticism of the price for Alex Smith was made! Quick! Dane needs to "set the record straight." Justice depends on it!
