Chiefs Alex Smith vs. Rich Gannon - Page 4

My view is that Andy Reid has no use for "game manager" QBs. What skills did Rich Gannon have that Alex Smith does not? Rich Gannon passed for about 4500 yards one year a Reid-like offense. Why can't Alex Smith do the same? Not saying he will, but help me understand why it's not going to happen.

Gruden made chicken salad out of chicken shit. You don't start with chicken shit by choice. Gannon (1999) and Smith (2013) are similar in that there are guys with better potential to work with. You are hoping to turn them into over achievers. Gannon (2002) wasn't good enough. That project was ultimately a failure.

they also had 21 TD's rushing that season Gannon threw 4600 yds. he had 26 TD's.

RB Garner was tearin it up that year, RB Crockett was a TD machine too.

If the Chiefs could score 21 TD's running it, I think Smiff will be fine.

And is DBowe Tim Brown? oh boy. He says he's gonna lead the league. Time to roll Dwayne.

Rich Gannon was a good player, and 2002 was a great year.

But that team was very talented. I mean, they did go to the Super bowl after all.

I will take any bet right now that barring injury, Smith has a more productive year statistically than any he ever had with San Fran.
