I still think WRs may be among the hardest positions in the game to scout. So much of what they are able to accomplish is scheme dependent. And honestly, they're all such good athletes that it's hard to even see a lot of separation there.
Personally I just look for fast feet, lateral agility and guys that will attack the football rather than let it get into their body. Chesson's 2015 tape shows a lot of that but man I hate having to look back a year. I know people want to say the injury did it (and the QB play didn't help), but how often do you really see guys backslide as seniors and then re-capture their form at the next level? It's just not all that common. Most guys continue to ascend or at worst plateau. He still makes me nervous but the '15 tape shows some skills there.

Does he remind anybody else a little of Allen Robinson?

I think Chesson has a lot of upside. Down year statistically in '16, but anyone who watched the Michigan-OSU game knows that their QB was pure ass. Maybe the worst I watched all season.

I wonder if his situation is not somewhat similar to Deandre Hopkins who just had a down year statistically most likely because of QB but who still looks to me like an elite WR.

WRs are useless to Smith. Mahomes will make them shine.

I like his interviews since joining the team. Speaks with the demeanor of a seasoned vet...a confident swagger. No robotic rookie answers. Pretty natural...relaxed. Not afraid to call out a reporter for a bad question either.

It's like Dorsey specifically looked for the antithesis of Albert Wilson the same as he was doing for Alex with mahomes.
Chesson is a tall, long tough Harbaugh WR with good hands who isn't scared to go over the middle. Polar opposite from that pussy Albert Wilson. Glad this staff drafted his replacement. Can't stand watching Wilson drop passes bc he's scared. |

I get what you're saying. Wilson has his issues. I still don't hate him like some of you guys do, but that's because he is a role player now. If he was still starting, I could see the hate. But he is buried behind Maclin, Hill, and Conley. How much do you really expect out of a 4th receiver anyway? But one thing Dorsey is great at is churning the bottom of the roster. Chesson is definitely pushing someone off the roster. Wilson, Robinson, or DAT. If Robinson doesn't improve from last year it will be him.

WR might be interesting this season. Robinson has been looking good.
http://m.chiefs.com/news/article-2/A...d-8e248b512017 On multiple occasions, Robinson showed a slithery athleticism across the middle of the field to get open and would finish it off by effortlessly snagging the ball out of the air. To put it other words, Robinson made it look easy on Wednesday, and after practice, Robinson knew he turned some heads. "I had a great day today," Robinson smiled after practice. "It was just going out there and trying to compete. I'm trying to prove whatever I can to get on the field. It's always about competing and showing the coaches what you can do. "I mean, whether it's on the field or off the field, it's just knowing what you've got to do. I think today was a good way to get started." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
