Also, for the record, Tyreek was like 5’8” 185 to Worthy's 5’11” 165. There is a massive difference in weight/build and presumably strength between the two.
The same was said about Smith in Philly. They're similar types of WR's who are the exception to the rule...

Same was said because it is a valid concern. That’s the reason you don’t see many 170-pound NFL WRs.

We don’t yet know if Worthy is an exception.

Here's Tank Dell who's just 5'8" 165 lbs lighting the NFL up last year as a rookie:

https://youtu.be/IQ12zEqSCPo?si=lVzOzeWduDSRPKpY

He's smaller and his game is objectively less physical than Worthy's. How much press coverage do you see in those highlights? If it were that easy to just beat up on the little guys, dudes like Dell wouldn't be coming into the league doing this as rookies.

You just cant afford to press guys this fast on every rep if any kind of capable QB is throwing the ball. It worked against Miami for a few reasons. And they didn't hit Tyreek every single play, but it sure was more than most. I really think they knew the keys when it was supposed to be a Hill play. I was watching live and that makes it harder to keep track of it all. But I cant really remember any play where hill was jammed and Tua made any kind of decent play to someone else off of it.

That highlight vid sucks for this conversation. I’m halfway through it and the only play I’ve seen the release was at :55 and he was off-the-ball and in motion.

This is true, which is why I’m more concerned with this issue inside the red zone. Once the field gets compressed, defenses have a lot more leeway to run press coverages.

That's because I posted the wrong video:

https://youtu.be/F9reV0lDNJs?si=5PBDnZRbL5ihrf30

We had this discussion in the draft forum before the draft about Worthy specrically. It's a silly thing to be overly concerned about in today's NFL.

You must be blind…

Tank Dell
Devonta Smith
Jordan Addison
Josh Downs
Zay Flowers

All but one of those guys was a rookie last year. All of those WR’s had 700+ receiving yards last season.

Why WOULDN'T you put him in motion in the red zone?

I mean, the Chiefs aren't a team that is going to go into the red zone and line up in an 11 set and just run slants out of it.

If they have 3 wideouts out there, they're going to be doing the motion with one of the outside receivers. That can be Worthy.

And honestly, with Kelce and Rice and Wiley on this team, I can't see them running a red zone set that has Worthy on the field where he ISN'T doing something to force the defense to react horizontally.

Yeah, all but one was a rookie. Exactly.

It’s been rare up until recently. These offensive gurus sending guys in motion and strict rule enforcement on defensive toughness/roughness, etc. is the reason we’re seeing these smaller guys popping up more frequently.. because, historically, small receivers in that weight range couldn’t function well in the league.

I’m sure we will, but like I said, at some point he’s going to have to man up and beat the jam on his own.

Also, I don’t have the numbers but we seem to favor sending Kelce in motion.
