Ingram is older I’d go elsewhere to look for a pass rusher.

I’d give clowney the multi year deal if he’d take it

I would not count on Clowney. He's likely to resign with the Browns. And, the Browns are rumored to be making a push to get him back. He and DeShaun Watson are very tight, and Clowney has stated that he really likes playing in Cleveland. But I get where you're coming from. Ingram made a huge difference last year, but he's at the age where all of a sudden he could really drop off.

He should start by midseason this year. Sorry got my names mixed up. Though I think kin are should probably start as soon as possible. Our RT situation is poor at best.

In other news, we might possess the weakest WR room in the West. There’s not a legit WR1 or even a player that might become a legitWR1 next season on the roster.

Guess we’ll have to see how much chicken salad Reid can make . . .

This roster was looking pretty depleted and I am pretty pumped about this draft. We added players that can shore up large parts of the defense (e.g. the back seven) for years if all goes well.

Just signing one veteran DE who performs at Ingram last year level is enough to make this defense clearly better than last year, I am pretty excited about the offense for this year too, I think its at worst a top 5 unit.

Looking further ahead, the Chiefs still have future needs at DE, WR, DT, TE that they didn't get to fill this draft, but you never have a super stacked roster and those needs are not dire, they can be restocked next year between FA and the draft.

There's a lot of luck involvedin drafting, and hitting the upside on luck on a few drafts in a row is how you build a dominant team. I think last year's draft was great, I am really excited about the upside on this years draft, slinging together another impressive draft next year and the Chiefs could easily be on another 5 year window of domination

With the trend of QB's getting rid of the ball in 2-2.5 seconds, pass rushers have to work with the DB's to have success. DB's gotta cover to make the QB hold the ball longer, rushers gotta get their quick so the DB's don't get hung out to dry. It's really a chicken or the egg thing. If the Chiefs did well in hurries(#5) but not sacks(#29) last year then pumping up the DB's to give the DL an extra 1/2 second to get there might just work.

I made this point elsewhere. Burrow was getting absolutely no time last year whoever he played and it didn't matter, because he chucked it up immediately and Chase and Higgins got it. And Mahomes meltdown wasn't because of constant pressure it was people dropping 8 into coverage. Maybe our new CBs will struggle with Chase and others as well, but if you can take away options for longer on the back end it's just as valuable. Loads of people talking about the diminished value of CBs etc i think are completely wrong.

Is our DL where I'd like it to be? Not really. But our secondary also desperaetely needed an injection of talent. Sneed is not a Pro Bowl level player (yet) no matter how many people here want to will it to be so.

The more I watch of him the less he looks like a starter ar RT at ths point. Looks a great guard prospect and COULD make it at tackle with a fair amount of coaching, but it'll take time. Probably good to great value but not there yet, and partly why I was more keen on tackles with good pass pro first and foremost.

I'm out on trying to make this kid a G. We're set there for the next 3 years, or maybe even more. Want a G? Draft a G. We've dicked around with the Prince for a year after being drafted by the Eagles in 2020., so Kinnard should have the same chance.

Yeah, dunno if I'd encourage him at G, just saying that's where I think he'd have a better chance of making it at present. Obviosly let him compete for the RT position but I wouldn't expect him to be ready this year, which is fine.

The roster as it stands

Trent McDuffie gives them an athletic cornerback who should be an immediate starter.

George Karlaftis will be in the rotation at DE. He gives the Chiefs a guy with a relentless motor & effort.

Skyy Moore is no Tyreek Hill but who is? Moore will provide the Chiefs another piece at WR. He looks like a slot guy to me. He has great hands & good speed.

Bryan Cook should immediately be a contributor in his role and will also challenge Juan Thornhill for time on the back end in base.

Leo Chenal will be an instant impact player on special teams who will likely develop into their starting strong-side linebacker in base. Immediate special teams contributor.

Joshua Williams gives them another corner with length on the outside. He could immediately challenge for a role in subpackage situations on the outside. Immediate special teams contributor.

Darian Kinnard is a physical player who gives them flexibility on the OL. He will provide depth at the moment & starting potential in the future.

Jaylen Watson gives the Chiefs another cornerback with length who can contribute on the outside. Immediate special teams contributor.

Isaih Pacheco gives them a talented depth player who should compete for a roster spot. Immediate special teams contributor.

Nazeeh Johnson has good size at 6-foot-2 and 189 pounds & excellent speed.
Immediate special teams contributor.

First guess at 53 man roster based upon the players currently on the roster:

QB - Mahomes/Henne
RB - CEH/Jones/Gore/Pacheco
FB - Burton
WR1 - Hardman/MVS/Coleman
WR2 - Juju/Moore/Gordon
TE - Kelce/Gray/Fortson
RT - Niang/Kinnard
RG - Smith/Wylie
C - Humphrey/Reiter
LG - Thuney/Allegretti
LT - OBJ/PTW

Offense: 26

LDE - Karlaftis/Danna
LDT - Nandi/Wharton
RDT - Jones/Saunders
RDE - Clark/Kaindoh
WLB - Harris/Chenal
MLB - Bolton/Carter
SLB - Gay/Lee
LCB - Fenton/McDuffie/Watson
RCB - Sneed/Williams/Johnson
SS - Reid/Cook
FS - Thornhill/Bush

Defense: 24

Special Teams:3
Butker
Townsend
Winchester

Practice Squad:
Dieter
Powell
Fountain
Bootle
Key
Buchele

I could see Key beating out Cook and maybe Barcoo beating out Johnson or Watson for a roster spot.
