Eh I actually like the 49ers Wideouts, Crabtree and Flowers is a solid matchup..I think Carr would have some issues with Josh Morgan though because he has speed.

The 49ers are honestly a pretty hard team to defense these days, they have players all over the field other than QB, I guess they still think Smith will get it now.

Carr did fine against Maclin, who is faster (and more talented) than Morgan by a mile.

I think our defense matches up well with their offense, but like I said I dont think as optimistically about the other side of the coin.

Hopefully, Willis doesn't kill DMC and Charles.

They'll just have Taylor Mays do it.

The difference in the Eagles and the 49ers is the 49ers line is better and they are committed to running the ball.

With that team it's one or the other do you let Gore throw up 150+ yards on you or do you come up in the box and get beat by Davis...this doesn't even factor in that Crabtree who looked far better than I thought he would as a rookie has a full training camp and all that.

I like th 49ers to be an easy playoff team this year.

duh, I have them as a possible NFL championship game team if they can get even average production from the quarterback. Should be a no brainer.

That brings up something I have been meaning to ask, when the **** are you gonna trade in that damn avatar? Barkley?

Taylor Mays at 5 FTW!

LOL, I;m happy for Taylor that he went to the 49ers, it's not far from his home and he'll get good coaching which is what he needs. He's a good guy and pretty smart, if he listens to the staff there and works hard which I'm sure he will, he'll end up as a very good NFL player.

See, why is it so hard for us to "get it" 9rs sucked and had the number one draft pick and now they are a play off team. What did they do differant than us?

They didn't become good till they hired a coach who knew what he was doing, Vernon Davis was a scrub under Mike Nolan.

And their picks on average were lower than ours, think about this...Alex Smith was number 1 overall..I believe Davis went 7th, Crabtree was 10 and Willis was I believe 11..

They don't have multiple top 5 picks.

They have been drafting quality players for years, but Nolan was a completely different coach than Singletary in all the wrong ways. Mike is not only more hands on with the players, but also knows how to push their buttons the right way.

They've lacked offensive coordinator stability. Jimmy Raye isn't a great coordinator, but not having to learn a new system yet again does a lot for a struggling QB like Alex Smith.

I think they've gone from since Smith was a rookie:
2005- Mike McCarthy
2006- Norv Turner
2007- Jim Hostler
2008- Mike Martz
2009-2010 - Jimmy Raye

Any QB would struggle with that much changing at coach. Now picture that with a QB trying to develop into a good starter.

Alex Smith won't beat the Chiefs. And if you rely on Mays to defend Charles or McCluster the Chiefs will win.

He won't have to, he has a superior team, and I wasn't even remotely inferring that Mays would cover them, just that he throws killshots and with the hits I've seen McCluster take already..

Actually McCluster facing the team with Pat Willis is a scary thought.

Based on what I have seen in the off season we have nowhere to go but up especially with a soft division and schedule. My take 6 & 10. Just need to show that we can close out a game or two more than we did last year.
