Andy Dalton is the Bengals QBOTF, Ponder will sit behind McNabb and gain experience, they aren't going to pull the plug on Ponder when they haven't even seen him play. The Viking's wont draft Luck IMO.

Nobody is going to trade the Luck pick cuz of the new rookie scale. He'll come way cheap compared to any recent #1 pick... you get the next Elway at a backup QB price - you take him.

I think the Rams are a lock to trade the pick simply because of how much they have invested in Bradford. And I think the Panthers are similarly married to Newton as their guy. The Vikings, however, would probably trade Ponder and keep Luck. The Jaguars are somewhere in the middle; I think they like Gabbert, but they might be willing to trade him away and keep Luck depending on how things shake out.

If the colts were smart, they'd get a QB in the first.

I'm setting the over/under on wins at 4. Our last win will be vs. Broncos at home. Will 4 wins be 'bad' enough?

the games that I think they'll win are: Miami, Indy, and Denver. *I think out of those 3, Indy is the best chance for them to lose. |

I'll take the over, but it wont matter...4 will not be bad enough to get the 1st pick.

I am sticking by my thoughts that you can't really judge the Chiefs chances of the #1 pick until the MIN AND IND games. After the game next week we will know if we have a chance at that or if we are going to win 6ish games.
We played with a ton of heart yesterday. That being said MIN is terrible and we played them at home and still MIN had a chance at the end to win the game on the last drive. I know NFL games are played close and a win is a win. My point is I didn't see concrete proof that we will be out of the race or in it all season after last week. They are playing hard and we do have some talent still healthy. If I did have to guess, I don't see us finishing with the worst record. Don't we lose the tie-breaker with everyone based on our strength of schedule? |

Chiefs don't need Luck, pick up Jones. Just don't take Barkley, he'll be another USC reject like Cassel, Leinert, et al. If they are in position for Luck later, draft and TRADE! Need more help than simply jettisoning Cassel (ugh, he's soooo bad, like a reverse Favre).

I don't understand why anyone is that on Landry Jones. Barkley's pretty clearly a superior prospect in my mind.

What if either the Rams, Vikings or even Jax finish with the worst record in football?
That would be an interesting case scenario. All of those teams have potentially good young qb's. Do they draft Luck regardless? Or, what if you have other teams with no young quarterbacks ala Indy, KC but they don't end up with the #1 pick in the draft? Do those teams decide to make offers and trade up? It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out. *BTW, I see the Colts drafting Luck IF they finish with the worst record in the league. I don't think there is any way they pass on him. My reasoning, 1) Manning isn't exactly healthy and who knows if he will be the same? 2) Manning is getting old, and sooner or later they are going to need a successor to replace him. Luck would be ideal for them. Simple as that. |

I don't know, but I do know that whether we get Luck or not, I'm sick to death of mediocre team..... We've had one year over about the last 5 where we have played just good enough not to get the best draft picks. I'm actually for signing or trading for a prospect. Of course I'm a Mallet fan, but I would love to see the Chiefs reach for him or somebody like him. I can't think of anyone else in the league right now like him. I'm not a big advocate for preserving draft picks because they are all basically crap shoots anyway. I would love to be able to draft Luck, but we will likely not be the first pick of the draft and if we are, we have to be able to keep him standing. Honestly, it's has always been obvious to me that Cassel was not our future... I couldn't believe it and was disgusted when they contracted him during training camp without even really making him try out at least a half of a year as a starter. That is all
