He’s not a hill clone. He’s a similar player, if he were of that level, yeah he’d be on the field with hill all the time.

Hill is a hall of gamer and the top wr in football right now at a time there are legit ass kickers at wr. Expecting or holding hardman to that standard is on you

I agree with you 100% that Hardman’s ceiling comp is DeSean Jackson.

Right.

Let’s get this out of the way. He’s not going to be as good as Tyreek. Ever. And that’s ok. He can still be a really good player, hell even an all pro or something.

But Tyreek is on a first ballot hall of fame trajectory. It’s super rare what he does. Don’t expect other guys to do that.

I think he explodes next year. I’ve seen enough flashes to feel comfortable projecting a huge jump in year 3 with more opportunities and another offseason to get better.

He might. I dunno.

As long as hill and Kelce are here they’re gonna command touches as they should though

I had hoped hardman would have fully replaced Watkins by now too. Just talking about it, not bitching

Eh, that was never going to happen. Hardman is never going to be the same type of WR that Watkins is. He may never be as good a WR as Sammy is right now. But even if he becomes the best version of himself, there are just things Andy will never ask Hardman to do that he has no problem asking Sammy to do. Largely because Hardman isn't built to do some of those things.

One example: during the SB, Sammy put a big chip on a DE (can't remember who it was exactly now, but it was the play where he ran that wheel-type route and had to jump up and high point it for the catch on the near sideline). Can you imagine Hardman trying to block a 260-lb. DE? Neither can I. And that's part of my point about Hardman vs. Watkins. Sammy is built bigger, and he can be really physical; Hardman just will never be the guy to do some of those things. It's not a knock on him; it's just the way it is.

So long as Andy wants/needs a WR that can play those types of parts on a regular basis in his offense, we need someone opposite Hill that is bigger and more physical than Hardman will ever be. Hardman should develop into more of a Tyler Lockett role, where you can move him from the slot to the edge and have him run routes that take advantage of his speed and quickness. But trying to make him be more physical is not a great idea.

I actually saw that in the game and was like...why did you throw it there? Hardman was wide ass open...but after seeing the pressure, I get it. Needed a little more time than he had.

Remmers might have been just as effective if he had fallen on the ground. Good Lord, that was bad.
