I don't necessarily think Hardmans a bad route runner. I don't think he's great at understanding all the nuances of his position.

He'll cut a route short when Mahomes thinks he's going deeper, he'll go deeper when Mahomes reads it as shorter.

Mahomes has spent so much time with Kelce and Hill who both just have a knack for knowing what to do and just bring in line with Pat. That when Hardman doesn't have that skill it frustrates Pat.

That's PART of running a route.

No one is ever going to convince me that a guy who runs a 4.3 40 (or w/e he ran) can't run 10 yards, stop and turn around. Run 5 yards, cut and run towards the middle of the field.

Run 15 ****ing yards and then angle towards the sidelines.

Yeah....no. Hardman can do that shit just fine.

Yeah, but there's a corner out there who can match him just fine who does that. Route running doesn't mean, "can he run a slant". Every receiver can do that. Route running is "Can he run a slant and create separation on it?".

I don't like MVS or the cost, and I think anyone who said they'd ever prefer Juju and him over Hill is full of s**t. But I get the point re having a different approach with multiple OK WRs rather than a killer and JAGs. Assuming we'll swing again in the draft it could be exciting. Interesting and risky approach, didn't see it coming.

It was number one on his list and consensus the #1 thing he needed to work on.


Wtf are we doing here? Why are we now pretending Hardman was a good route runner and getting open? If he was, why did his role change 6 games into the season? If the only fault was that Mahomes wasn't seeing him, why would Reid punish him be demoting him?
