Is the supposed “hangover effect” from playing in an epic/classic game real or is it just an exaggerated narrative?

That and the Chiefs secondary are the only potential concerns I have for Sunday.

In the NCAA MBB Tournament, I think it's absolutely real, because you could be playing your next game in < 48 hours. In the NFL? I don't truly believe it to be "a thing".

The Chiefs played 3 games like that in a row when they won the SB.

Chiefs were blowing them out last time. Bengals got a lot of luck in that game. It will take the same for them to beat this Chiefs team. I don't think lighting will strike in the same spot for them.

To name a few...

Kick off return called back.
Dropped TH bomb that hit him in the hands.
Completing that many 50/50 balls.
Multiple drives extended by questionable flags.

In a game where refs are swallowing their whistles more than not. This could be a massacre.

I think if the Chiefs had never been here then I would say that there might be a let down after the game against the Bills. I’m not worried about them this year.

Agreed… thinking specifically about Gonzaga coming out flat and losing to Baylor in the National Championship Game after playing in the Final Four instant classic vs UCLA.

I don’t think it is applicable to the NFL without the quick turnaround between games. Also for this game specifically the Chiefs are significantly better than Cincy and they have the revenge factor from their recent match-up last month.

Seems like we've never played well in Cincy, but we've had much better luck playing them in Arrowhead.

Just watched the highlights from week 17. We dominated their asses in the 1st half, should have had a score to make it 35 for the Chiefs, or at least 31, then the O went to sleep in the 2nd and Chase went God mode.

That ain't gonna happen twice, especially at Arrowhead. This game is much less of a worry than the Bills game. People are nervous because we lost to them a few weeks ago, but I promise you, that was not the Chiefs A game by a long shot. That was not PLAYOFF Chiefs.

Going on a tiger safari this Sunday at Arrowhead.

They should be more susceptible to the “hangover effect” than us. They didn’t expect to be here; they hoped to be here. They won on a last second field goal after an interception. We have expected to play in this game and the next one for the last three years.

Oh boy, Joe Blow Burrow just claimed he has heard noisier stadiums in the SEC than any NFL stadium!

The Chiefs typically only lose games when they get dominated at the LOS. (I worried about the Bills game because they Bills did win up front in the regular season game.) The first Cinci game was such an anomaly is that regard. Cinci doesn't have the talent to win up front. It would take a REALLY sloppy game by the Chiefs to lose.

Luck as in the Refs deciding the flow of the game
