Trader Joes

Anybody been there? $2.00 bottles of wine, which has recently beat out a 100.00 dollar bottle Ruffino contest entry. Other gourmet goodies as well, such as pepper corned hard salami, cheeses, organics, chocolates, coffees etc.

Trader Joe's rules. I've been shopping there since I moved from Kansas 14 years ago. They have great prices on alcohol but their food products are excellent.

Try the hummus, TJ's brand almonds, cashews and pistachios (all unsalted) along with many of their frozen foods and tortilla chips (they even have a tortilla chip that's a laxative - it's healthy and tasty).

I greatly prefer TJ's to Whole Foods. And it's much less expensive.

MUCH less than Whole Paycheck.

Yeah I bought a tortilla chip there which had poppy-seed baked/fried into the body of the chip, it was different.

Quality stuff at real values without having to buy a truckload of it like at Costco. I'm partial to the olives, salsas, and many of the marinades and sauces.

Oh, but of course Costco has a much larger supply of augmented women who shop there, so they have that going for them (at least here in Scottsdale).

Olives rock. Recently I learned that I have high blood press. so the olives will have to be minimized. Kalamata are the best ever.

Crap, you just spoiled them for me too. I got HBP too, checked the jar, and only two of those are 10% of your daily sodium. Maybe if you eat the garlic stuffed ones, it'll counter the sodium ;>)

I've never been to a Trader Joe's. But has anyone ever been to Jungle Jim's in Cincinnati? Huge beer and wine selection, huge international food section, produce, meat, seafood, cooking classes, live fish tanks, etc. etc.

You can get a basic idea from their web site, but you have to go to get the full experience.

Never been to Cleveland, but Cincinnatti looks like a decent town, other than the fact that it is full of Bengals fans.

Try those in some vanilla ice cream. Option: add dry roast peanuts.

I love Trader Joe's, but the closest one to me is 3 hrs away in Minneapolis. It's like I live on the Ingall's farm or something.
