I really think what's chapping people (including me) is the deja vu aspect of this game.
That definitely hurts the most. Once Snoop scored, I felt great, but just knew the Raiders would get a field goal. When they got the long return, I put my head in my hands and watched the game slip away... again.

In my heart of hearts, I wanted a win, but my brain of brains told me we probably wouldn't...
The problem is that I wasn't prepared for such a heartbreaker... |

Well I was at the game, and I was really in awe! KC Fans are the best. I mean y'all really take the Chiefs serious.
Some of the plays hadn't been worked on in practice, I found out later after the game. There was a lot of confusion, with DA coming in and then going out. Mikhael coming in and then him going back to the sidelines, with Priest Holmes coming in and then going out then vice versa. So I think that they are gonna be alright.

Ethelyn, I appreciate the insight...Arrowhead on Sunday is definately a sight to behold, isnt it?
If KC was running plays that were not practiced, that scares me a little.

Parker,
You hit the nail on the head. That sums up my feeling exactly. I wasn't terribly surprised to see the Chiefs lose, but I was not at all prepared to see them lose like that, and to see the offense in such disarray. Hence my thread about being disgusted. I still have hope, but this one hurts.

The Raiders could have been beaten. We had 'em in the palms of our hands.
Something from someone didn't work and it can only get better

Throwing more to Ricks could have helped. It seems Green and Ricks hook it up better than some of the others. Gonzo did well also.

I saw a couple of passes that Green could have thrown to Mikhael (he was wide open), but he chose to continue to throw to TG (when he was double covered). I admit that Mikhael did drop a pass, but so did TG, DA, and PH. That last throw to Mikhael, he was double covered and there was a defender there waiting to take him down immediately had he caught it. He said that he saw an arm coming toward his head.
Also, I think that Trent Green did wait a while to throw some of the passes he threw, thus putting some of his receiving corps in danger of getting their heads taken off . . . completely. Hopefully practice this week will work out some of the kinks

This game was definetly a heartbreaker. I was having a football party and after the game felt like telling everybody to go home. I didn't feel like watching more football, nor did I feel like scoializing. However, I am not discouraged. I think our D did a fine job keeping down one of the best teams in the the NFL. Our offense clearly needs work, but I think they will come along nicely. You could see near the end why DV is so pumped on Trent Green. I can't wait for the O to get it together, because with this D, we will win.

I just hated to see some of the fans leave before the end of the game. But being a first time in KC at Arrowhead, I can understand. KC fans are cool

Ethelyn,
There were 2 groups of 4 "Chiefs fans" from our section that left right after the late Oakland TD. I let them know how I felt about their dedication as "fans". Then I was vindicated when we tied the score. I wish we had pulled it out, but it was a lesson to the departed "fans" not to leave until the proverbial fat lady does her thing.... |

Whitlock said that 20,000 fans left early. Is he right? And if so, why???? It was a beautiful day, a great game, and not decided until the end.
Anyone have any answers?

I was sitting behind Priest Holmes family who was siting two rows behind some Raider fans. I guess the Chiefs fans that left (in my area) didn't think that we'd even tie up the game, but I was glad that the Chiefs had to fortitude to maintain. It was such a heartbreaker, but hopefully we won't become the cardiac kids, and when we have a lead like we had yesterday, we'll keep it.

I'd like to know the answer to that as well!
that's pretty effed-up - there is absolutely no excuse for leaving a game like that early.

What game was Whitlock watching? I don't think that collectively that many people left, but I was only concerned about the fans in my immediate area, not all over the stadium
