There's no question that Whitlock will drop this line in several columns throughout the course of the season.

Hell, he's probably reading this thread now, taking notes.

What's up, JWhit. I know you're trolling.

I think we will win some games. Not be 500 by any stretch of the imagination but better than last year. I think we'll start real slow and become competitive half way through.

You can call it blind homerism or blind optimism.

These guys could have won some games last year if herms conditioning program didn't call for 12 oz curls and doughnut stretches.

The Chiefs will not win more than 4 games this season. If they can't fix the offensive line, they may threaten to go 0-16.

And no, I am not joking.

Okay, we'll see. I predicted 2-14 in May 2008. How'd that turn out?

I'd like for you to explain to all of us how the Chiefs will score enough points to beat Baltimore, the NY Giants, the Eagles, the Redskins, the Cowboys, the Chargers, and Pittsburgh.

Please. We're all waiting.

1-7 to start the season. At best.

Sure, on paper many of those games look bad...but this is the NFL, teams surprise every week, some of those are bound to be tight contests that KC wins.

The talent is there to go 8-8. yeah, whoop.di.doo i know...but Haley & Pioli are apparently NOT bullshitting, it is possible.

How did Miami respond to some real law & order?

Bullshit.

Miami was one season removed from 9-7. Miami only beat two teams with a winning record last year. Miami has a guy in Joey Porter that had 17+ sacks last year.

The Chiefs will be lucky to get 17 sacks all year, let alone ONE GUY. The Chiefs aren't playing a bunch of losing teams with holes, they're playing some of the best teams in football.

And if you think the Chiefs have enough talent to win 8 games, you haven't been paying attention. Who's going to replace Gonzalez and his 1,000 yards and 10 TD's? Who's going to rush the passer? How can this shitty ****ing offensive line protect the QB? Who's the receiver that will stretch the field opposite Bowe? Who's going to successfully return punts and kicks? Who's going to run the ball throughout 16 games when it's obvious that LJ is spent?

Answer these questions and we may have a debate. Otherwise, it's just hopes and dreams and rainbows and unicorns.

Fortunes in the NFL tend to change dramatically, with a proven group of new leaders...from the top down...theres no way we win 4 games or less.

Theres no way of knowing how a certain group of guys is going to coalesce, but at a bare minimum, they WILL play for fear of their jobs...that alone is worth 2 games.

How did the Rams go from perennial losers to Champs, how does a Hemi Posi-Trac work?...i dunno, it just does.

And if anybody actually bets you, they might as well give it to you now. Baltimore is probably already thinking about padding the D stats up. That will be a huge beating in every sense. KC could not have drawn any worse of a first game. There are some teams that might be equal, even in better shape to rape the Chiefs D, but with Lewis and the crew out there...haha. Once they get shit-kicked in that first game, the Raiders aren't even a gimme....then it gets WAAAAYYYY worse. I am just waiting for someone to say "well, Washington sucks", or "If we make it to the bye-week at .500, we could sneak in the playoffs".
