Awesome thoughts of Awesomeness.

Okay, so you're just going to have to go with this as I see fit. This isn't about who currently does what where, but more about the RIGHT 3 necessary to bring your imagination to life.

Why am I doing this? Because each of us draw hope and joy in our own way. There's a part of everyone that can see with the Mind's Eye and use it. And at this particular moment in time, my Mind's Eye rather fancies the following scenario:

( Crowd noise comes up louder and louder as the sound man's fingers raise the mains for the lapel mics of our hosts )

Al: "And here we are, Monday night at the hottest ticket in the NFL; the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Denver Broncos". "On the line? The right to claim division supremacy heading in to the post-season, and it all starts here". "John, what are you thinking about right now"?

Gruden: "I'm thinking I can barely hear myself think, Al".

Madden: "It's an intense, high-octane atmosphere isn't it"?

Gruden: "Man you aren't kidding".

Al: "You coached a game here not too long ago during your last season as an NFL head coach, and had some pretty positive things to say about Kansas City".

Gruden: "I'll tell ya', having been through these doors a few times, I knew that it wouldn't be long before the young talent I witnessed that day would start to climb as a team, and I said as much in my post-game press conference".

Al: "And climb they have; two years under the direction and supervision of General Manager Scott Pioli and Head Coach Todd Haley have brought the Chiefs back from the brink of NFL obscurity, and forward to the rowdy, successful, fan-first powerhouse that we witnessed for most of the 1990's and during the time of Dick Vermeil's tenure as head coach of this franchise".

Al: "John Senior, what are your thoughts"?

Madden: "I have to say this; in my time as the Head Coach of the Oakland Raiders, I coached a lot of very intense games against the Chiefs. We were rivals, and we played out some of the most intense games this league will ever see". "And though that rivalry is so deeply embedded in my blood that I could never really root for Kansas City, I have to say that being in this stadium, seeing this atmosphere, and feeling the volume of this crowd in my old bones makes me remember why I love this game so much".

Al: "Well how about it gentlemen, are you ready to kick off some division football"?

Madden: "Absolutely".

Gruden: "Let's do it".

Al: "And here we go"!

(and **** whatever they might have to say about Denver in pre-game because it doesn't matter)

Well played. I hope someday soon you're right about this scenario.

It's coming. I wish people could understand that my personal takes on the many aspects of building this team and my clash of ideologies with the powers that be have no effect on how much I love being a fan of this team.

When we went to OT and our game went National, I can't begin to describe how it felt and what it meant to be able to yell at the top of my lungs at the TV knowing we were absolutely in that game, and that we were really fighting for that win.

We're all starved, every last one of us. And it makes for difficult times.

But there were some sparks in that game that made me see the beginning of the smallest light at the end of a very dark and too long traveled tunnel.

Monday Night Football is losing its luster to Sunday Night Football. Largely because its NBC, not cable. And because of the voices of Al Michaels and Bob Costas being connected to it. It FEELS more like a national game now than listening to twerps like Tirico, Jaworski, and loudmouth Gruden. But your scenario isn't as far away as some think. Not the way the NFL is structured.

I agree 100%. That last game definitely showed some light at the end of the tunnel. Was it by any means perfect? Absolutely not. However the Chiefs did what they had to do to gut that win out. I'm just hoping however that the light at the end of the tunnel that did show, doesn't fade out before the Chiefs reach it.

Prior to that game I truly believed we had blown it on so many fronts, that looking at .500 next year was a pipe dream.
This off season is going to be critical in terms of acquiring talent and better support staff so we can make that .500( or hopefully better )a reality.

Don't get me wrong, every off season is important. But this one is HUGE, and the heat in the kitchen is close to blowing up the thermometer on the wall.

So to speak.

I have got to hand it to you RoR, you really pegged the dialogue for Gruden. Honestly, it has his speech patterns and typical lines. Good job. I thought it was going to be total shit, but it ended up being pretty cool. Hope to god it comes true.

I have a feeling its going to be a high scoring shootout. I just think Cassel has it going with Chambers, who has plenty of incentive to stick it to the Chargers. Charles brings something to the table. The D is turning a corner. I see a fun game.
