VARSITY
Protocol: Throwing an apple core out your car window.

I was driving in a very rural area today, and I enjoyed a nice crisp apple while I drove.

Now, the challenge with apples and driving is that you eventually end up with an apple core, which most people don't eat. So I'm driving, and I think that I should throw the apple core out the window. It's 100 percent biodegradable, right?

But I couldn't do it. I'm so trained to not throw trash out the window that I couldn't do it. It wasn't even a fear of public shaming if someone saw and misunderstood; it was pure habit and training. I feel like it's actually probably more environmentally responsible to throw it out the window rather than putting it in a trash can and transporting it to a landfill. But I still couldn't do it.

What's your opinion on throwing apple cores out car windows?

I'm not sure whether the prefix here should be "Home and Auto" or "Food and Drink", so I hope it doesn't confuse anyone.

Dump your garbages anywhere in Kansas. You may refer to the act as "Division 32, Exterior Improvements".

Thank you.

Does it have a chance to hit Alex Smith? If so, without hesitation.

Has there ever been a year go by that you haven't had a personal beef with a player/coach/GM/owner? I ignore 95% of your posts, but often wonder if your only agenda is to add topic of discussion to be the center of attention. No team in the NFL is perfect. Every single team has a weakness they have to overcome.

As far as the actual topic at hand, I have no problem throwing biodegradables out the window in appropriate areas.

Let us ponder this on a different level.

In all probability, you would be tossing the apple in an horizontal trajectory.

By tossing the apple, you become Alex Smith.

Ergo, you would have a better chance at hitting Charles or Kelce.

Back when I smoked, I'd throw a cigar out the window, but not a cigarette. I toss apple cores as well, but throwing anything except a teenager out of the car doesn't feel quite right.

I got a $110 ticket for throwing a banana peel out the window. Yes, it was perfectly organic, and yes, it made it into the grass but no, the police officer didn't care. As far as he and my $110 were concerned, it was littering.

That said, as long as there was no cop right behind me, I'd still do it again.

There's absolutely no way I'd risk throwing a banana peel or apple outside of my car window while driving, as it would cost me $500 dollars or more.

Plus, I'm not a litterer and rarely, if ever, eat in the car.
