I really want one of these:
https://avidarmor.com/avid-armor-ult...sealer-system/ A chamber system is a lot better. But they are also not cheap |

Food saver and I use it mostly for sous vide.
I use the name brand bags because I’m slightly worried about what plastic chemicals might come out during the sous vide. I use it a lot. You can safely cook meat by getting it above 130 degrees for over an hour. So you can safely cook chicken and sausage without drying it out. I sometimes lightly sear the outside on the grill when I’m done.

I roll with this
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I also use off brand bags/rolls. The bags are just as good as the name brand bags and cost a lot less.

They're great for sealing fish fillets right after cleaning fish.

Got this:
![]() A little pricier, but love it so far. Has a 'express bag-maker' that seals the end of the roll after cutting. So one less step in the whole bag-making process. |

I got a foodsaver when they first started getting popular, maybe 20 years ago. It crapped out on me about 5 years ago so I got a new one which is still going strong. I buy flour, sugar, meats coffee etc in bulk and portion everything out. I swear by them.

I have a vac master 215 v.
It’s a nice sealer and gets a lot of use. Needs some occasional maintenance.

They're great. Just don't let it and a foil pan fall from the top shelf of the cupboard and try to catch the foil pan and let the vacuum sealer land on your foot. Scraping and bruising your foot for a week and a half. Just saying.

Some good suggestions in here. Seems like food saver is pretty common. I’d spend 300-350 on one if I knew I could get a lot of use out of it. I don’t want to keep buying cheap shot boxes as I don’t want it crapping out when I need it most.

If you are thinking about it for sous vide, you can purchase the sous vide part and cook your food in freezer zip lock bags. This is a bit of a pain as the bags tend to have some air and then they float. But you can check out what the food is like.
Obviously not relevant if you're just looking for food storage.
