I don’t see much talk about Pacheatcode becoming the new #1

Everybody was pounding the table for Clyde—their favorite player to hate—to be demoted. And what do you know. The very next week, Andy gave you your wish. Yet nobody cares?

Let the reign of Pacheatcode begin.

You mean when they said that but gave Pop and CEH equal touches and series?

Eh - a healthy McKinnon is an above average runner. Good vision, very good speed, runs with more authority than you'd expect given his stature. He's an outstanding pass blocker and very good receiver.

McKinnon isn't a JAG, IMO - he's just an older 'back with injury issues so we parse his reps out pretty sparingly.

And frankly, I don't think MEH even rises to the level of JAG. Game after game, season after season, we see those 'Yards Expected' vs. 'Yards gained' graphs and MEH is running for a half yard per carry less than his expected results.

Pacheco is just an unknown. He's probably a JAG but he's a JAG with great strength and long-speed. I'll take my chances there.

By themselves, none of them are great. But as a whole, it's a good solid player.

Hence, why you don't spend massive resources on a RB.

As a whole they've been dead-ass average while playing against light boxes. Worse still, that average performance has come via 2 very strong games and 4-5 wholly forgettable ones.

We just need more reliability and consistency out of them if this is what we're going to do.

I will say I do like that Pacheco bounces right back up after every run. He's got this youthful energy, you can see it in how violently he runs. Every time he plants his foot, it's like he's trying to launch himself in orbit.

I'm not a huge fan of how he flails about. Seems like there's some wasted energy there. Plus his arms are all over the place. At least he doesn't fumble...

Yeah, they need to be more consistent for sure.

But with what they've got invested there in McKinnon and Pacheco, they're fine. CEH is the problem but that dead horse is beat to death.

I don't know that Pacheco is much better but I think he can be. The problem for him is that he doesn't get many carries. Sometimes a RB needs several carries to get into the rhythm of the game. That is why I'd like to see more of him. Perhaps yesterday is the start of that.

He runs like rockets are attached to his back every time. I want all of that, even if he's a liability in pass blocking.

If you're talking about the flexing and gesticulating after every 4+ yard run, I'd agree, but I do like the fact that he's bouncing back up quickly after each run.

Kelce talked about it in one of his earlier podcasts; the guys on the field see that and feed off the energy.

I'm talking about the flailing and gesticulating DURING the play. He's just wild.

Who was the douchey WR we had back in the early 2000s who would celebrate like he won the Super Bowl after every catch? Johnnie Morton? Samie something or other?

It's not smooth like say Breece Hall (damn the ACL strikes again), who looks like he's just gliding.

That's easy to say until that liability yields the a flying shoulder into Patrick's spleen.

The issue, as I see it, is that I'm not convinced MEH is measurably better in pass pro. So given the choice, I'll take the guy with louder tools who HASN'T yet shown himself to be incapable of spotting holes over a meaningful sample size.

But really, the only guy I'm routinely happy to see on the field from our RB room is McKinnon.
