RIP George Foreman

George Foreman has passed away.

Rest in peace

I loved the George Foreman grill when I was in college too(I would never use that again but at the time I cooked a lot with it).

Ran into him last fall at Wells Fargo Bank in Huffman Tx... I went inside the bank to make a deposit, bc the drive through line was long, and he was there with one of his sons. We were the only ones inside that day, and I noticed him and right away I wanted to say something to him but I didn't out of respect cuz I'm sure everybody does. So he actually looked at me and said, "Good Morning, how are you doing?" And I kind of froze up because greatness was talking to me. I told him I was doing well and asked him how he was doing, and he said that he was doing great he was just out and about running errands. Then it all made sense because I saw this really cool totally restored 1960's Ford truck in the parking lot. So I asked him if it was his truck and he said it was. So we got to talking, and when his son came back, we walked outside and he showed me the truck. I mean this thing was MINT! I had driven my "67 Mustang convertible to the bank that day, and he had noticed it, and I told him I'd let him drive it if he wanted to, because I was sure he was good for it if he wrecked it. He started laughing and said he doesn't fit in Mustangs. So we got to talking a little more and then he asked me if I wanted to go to Dairy Queen with he and his son, and I was like HOLY SHIT! I'm just going to the bank and now I'm riding in George Foreman's truck going to Dairy Queen! Fkn REALLY???!!! We went to Dairy Queen right around the corner from the bank, and I ended up buying him and his son and ice cream cone. Just an unbelievable experience!
RIP Big George!

All the Dads were stoked to meet the former heavyweight champ of the world but the girls were so excited to meet the maker of the Foreman grill..

RIP Champ..
George Foreman versus all of the girls at the tournament in boxing. The girls can only take him on three at a time. Who do you got?

Pretty sure I have.told this story before...

In the early 2000's I worked for the company that owned the rights to the Foreman Grill...Salton Inc, which at the time was based in Columbia MO.

One summer the State Special Olympics was held in Columbia and George was the Grand Marshall for the ceremonies.

He came in a day early to meet with the associates at Salton and I was lucky enough to meet him in person when the VP of Finance brought him by my office. Got to shake his hand...and braced myself for my hand to be crushed.

What i got instead was a very cordial soft handshake which puzzled me a bit. What I found out later was that he had worked with a team that taught him how to shake hands so that he could relate to everyone.

Got to spend about 20 minutes chatting with him and the he took a group picture with my team which I still have.

One of the nicest celebrities I ever met....a couple of times I got to chat with him when he was at the Housewares Show at Mccormick Place in Chicago.

I always considered him the one guy I was certain would beat prime Mike Tyson.

It would have been a tough matchup for Tyson.

Kind of like paper rock scissors. I see Tyson beating Ali, Ali beat foreman and foreman would have beat Tyson

Wow this is sad. Dude was chastised after Ali beat him but he really turned his career around at an older age, became a champ again and then became a great business man after he retired. Word is he made more money outside the ring than he did inside it.

R.i.p George.

Wife just asked “Was he a boxer originally?”

I said, “Yes he was. Before he was a grill salesman.”

Why in the world couldn't you use a George Foreman grill now? They are great, little, inexpensive grills.
