A message to those who like to bitch, moan, and argue.
I'm not singling out anyone, so I don't want to hear the either.

I am not here to intervene in 3rd-grade playground tussles. I am not here to act as a go-btween when you can't get along with the other moderators.

From this point forward, all disputes will be moved to the "Petty Board Disputes" forum.

If you feel the need to start fights, do it there. Any more griefing or bickering in the main forum will result in a warning. The second offense will result in being either temporarily or permanently banned.

It is one month before the draft, free agency is in full swing, and OUR COUNTRYMEN ARE HALFWAY ACROSS THE WORLD GETTING SHOT AT.

Grow up and use this board for what it was intended - entertainment.

the purpose of the board is really the issue, isn't t? and phobia has always let the board determine that by itself...

that's really what has made chiefs planet unique and so very strong...

it's democracy in action...

and like democracy, it can be messy at times... and even unpleasant... and, on occasion, even offensive...

but when it gets too far over the line, that's when the police (moderators) come into play...

phobia understands the difference between moderating and censorship...

autin chief seems to have a very good grasp of the difference...

that understanding and the ability to function in a truly democratic and largly self-limiting and self-policing environment is the primary reason that the planet is so very successful and so wildly popular, imo...

now, not everybody likes that...

now, some would prefer to turn back the clock...

some might be called "reactionaries"... or "old fashioned"... or perhaps just "nostalgic", longing for simpler, cleaner times when folks were always polite and always behaved and always agreed with the man in authority just because he was the man...

is that the planet we want? the planet of harry and ike? the planet of mccarthy and tricky dick? the planet of quiet civility and mild humor? the planet or order & stability?

or do we want the planet of geedubya? the planet of bitiing wit? the planet of controversey and strongly held opinions? the planet of spirited debate and taco, recount, mememe, ernie, t-post tom, go bo and assorted other ass holes that keep you awake and/or piss you off?

if some would like a family atmosphere, let them create a family forum... or a family board... the planet is the planet... it may have been something else at one time, but it isn't whatever this guy wants it to be now...

i may get banned for this, but if the planet is gonna be some tame wussy place liike this guy wants, i might as well get booted now 'cause i'll die of boredom anyway...

This is NOT a family BB, this is a BB that was created for Chief's fans. Chief's fans, by nature, cover a WIDE and different range of people, and so, by nature, will often have differences of opinion.

If people are arguing JUST for the sake of arguing, that is one thing. But if people are having a heated political debate or are engaged in a heated discussion about how the Chiefs should handle a certain situation, then they SHOULD be able to do that. Period.

If you don't like the thread, don't click on it!

If you don't like a certain person, that is what the IGNORE function is for!


I am mostly a reader of Chiefs Planet, but occasionally a poster, but one thing is very clear to me . . . .

there are a lot of people that need to "grow up".

I realize that but IMO I think this post should have been A LOT more specific. The way it looks now we should just change the name of the BB to Parkersplanet where nobody ever argues and gives the next guy the ol reach around because of what he doesn't want his family to see. That to me is assinine and self serving. The entire point of having a BB is to debate and discuss different viewpoints on everything from football to politics with an obvious slant twords our beloved chiefs. Considering every subject has a diferent viewpoint and those viewpoints are discussed here, things are going to get heated from time to time. For everyone to have to live in fear now of Parker removing them from the BB for arguing would destroy the entire BB IMO. I truly hope Parker removes this thread and comes up with something much more specific or better yet just drop the whole thing as I feel more rules will only make our Planet a less enjoyable experience.
