There have already been a couple of federal courts rulings on this allowing the employers to mandate it because of the at-will status. That Houston hospital where you live being one of them.

Sure you would agree that the Supreme Court will end up with those cases right? Or will you hold the same position when a federal judge say the opposite?

Maybe this is just me. I don’t see any NFL regulations being particularly relevant to the typical person’s life. It’s such a specific job with very different work circumstances than most people deal with.

I might not want my employer to mandate vaccines, but I don’t necessarily argue with the NFL’s stance. That line of work is completely different than mine.

I work in an office with just a few people and can keep my distance the entire day. I can also work from home if necessary. The situations are completely different, so I don’t see myself getting too worked up over what the NFL decides is best for itself. If it’s a bad decision, then what do I care? Doesn’t affect me.

Not intending this to be pro and anti. Just saying I don’t see how really any typical American is affected by this.

yes at some point the SC will have to rule on this I would imagine. But it will be long after the FDA approves the vaccine which everyone is hoping to be by next month or Sept.

Define infected. Does asymptomatic but tested positive count? Because it probably shouldn't. Plenty of people have tested positive twice spread months apart - but one of the infections is usually asymptomatic.

Natural infection vs vaccination: Which gives more protection?
Nearly 40% of new COVID patients were vaccinated - compared to just 1% who had been infected previously.

Coronavirus patients who recovered from the virus were far less likely to become infected during the latest wave of the pandemic than people who were vaccinated against COVID, according to numbers presented to the Israeli Health Ministry.

Health Ministry data on the wave of COVID outbreaks which began this May show that Israelis with immunity from natural infection were far less likely to become infected again in comparison to Israelis who only had immunity via vaccination.

More than 7,700 new cases of the virus have been detected during the most recent wave starting in May, but just 72 of the confirmed cases were reported in people who were known to have been infected previously – that is, less than 1% of the new cases.

I actually just emailed Kendra Findley, the administer of Public Health and Epidemiology for Greene County (Springfield, Missouri is in Greene) and here’s what she said:

“Two new studies just came out that demonstrated immunity from the vaccine is stronger/more potent than from natural immunity (recovery from illness). Neutralizing antibody levels were 25 times higher for vaccinated than for those with natural immunity. Now, for people with both natural immunity and the vaccination, their neutralizing antibodies were 100 times higher than natural infection alone. It seemed to suggest that those who have recovered from illness can really benefit from vaccination.”
