Am I an a$$hole?
So one of my bosses is sitting in my 4 person cube right now. He feels his cushy desk isn't big enough for him so he has moved some of his stuff into the open space next to me to go through some contract drawings we just got back from one of our clients. I have a Eminem, Ice Cube, Snoop, Dr. Dre mix going. the other two guys I sit with have no problem with me playing it with no head phones on. My office manager told me I am the boss of my cube, so I throw my weight around a little bit...........read that I as try and be a pr*ck because I can.

Any way, he has the balls to turn around to me and say "Matt, really, that music has to go."

Me: "What?"

Him: "I don't listen to any form of music that starts with an "R". Rap, Reggea, Rock..........

Me: "You want me to turn it off?"

Him: "Yes, its distracting."

Me: "No, YOUR IN MY CUBE NOW!!!!!!!! It looks pretty quiet over at your empty desk."

At that exact point, NWA's 'fuck the police" came on. I shot him a smirt and a wink. "Until my cell mates start to complain about it, it stays on."


I really hope he wasn't expecting to come over here and flex his muscles and not have be flex back!

I seem to recall you posting about getting drunk and boozing on the job a while back.......It can't be that bad if they allow it.

I don't really like it that my boss blasts Henry the 8th, type music, and turn it down when he leaves.

Now.......get back to studying that new Tool pack, we're tired of your drawings looking like they were done with a speak-n-spell in a rickshaw on a cobblestone road. I'm expecting the edits on that initech job by 5, so get To it!

I wouldn't exacly say they "allow" it to happen. They just turn their heads.

And those tool bars just gave me a headache.

Asshole? Eh. But dude, that music. NWA? **** the Police? That was old in ’90 when I used to blast it in the barracks in Germany. There’s plenty of newer offensive music out, no reason to reach THAT far back into the archives.
