Yes he can. Besides he is the one who made JaMarcus Russell the #1 pick.

Top 5 DT? The Sporting News guide I have has him ranked 19th, and going in the 5th round. I wouldn't care that much about what one guide said if the guy wasn't also a "Tweener".

Even the glowing reviews I read about this guy called him Tennessee's "5th d-lineman", saying they would put him in when another player was hurt or underperforming. He wasn't even good enough to start for his own college team! While I know that this doesn't necessarily mean he isn't good enough to start for the Chiefs, I can't help but continue to expect better.

The general consensus is that the sporting news is a waste of ink.

From what I gather, he was in the top 5 nearly everywhere else.

Webb and Hannon both possess that ability. Both have good speed (apparently Hannon has elite speed).

Why does it matter if he has speed to do that or not. Do you think bigger WRs like TO and Boldin are not capable of making big plays since they only have average speed?

This is a good criticism.

The guy didn't even start producing until last year.

So not sure what to think.

Yea you probably uh shouldn't trust the sporting news.........a few years ago they had a guy who didn't get drafted as a 1st rounder.

Just so you know, McBride had 68 tackles as the "5th d-linemen" last season. He was referred to as the "5th d-linemen" because of his versatility. He rotated all over their d-line.

I think its less of a concern because wasn't starting until last season due to the solid and more experienced starters on that line ahead of him.

Sporting News draft guide is good for two things - they have good player write ups and they are good for team needs. Their selection stuff is normally way off.

I think it has gone really well. They didn't reach for anybody and by most accounts they got some guys at good value. It will be nice not to have a horrible hangover tomorrow. This is two years in a row they've drafted well and saved me from making some bad decisions on draft night. Thanks Herm, now just learn to coach.

i thought we'd go more offensive than just Bowe. If we can fill the gap while Jared is gone, and still have a strong defense, I can live with that.

I love what we did so far. Will they turn out? no one knows, but as of today. I am very satisfied, and i believe the Chiefs FO will all sleep good tonight.
