3 yards rushing in the 1st half? No, you are going to run the ****ing ball. You are not going to be allowed to drop back and watch your QB get killed because you can't run the ****ing ball. It is similar to making a hitter lay a bunt down with 2 strikes after he couldn't do it on strikes 1 and 2.

Fatlock can cry that Haley isn't treating them like men all he wants. He needs to stick to his doublestuffs. This team isn't going to compete for a playoff spot anyway so this is exactly the time to pull stunts like this. You want to win? You have to learn how to block. You have to learn how to run the ball. 3 ****ing yards in 1 half is pathetic and I don't blame Haley one bit for what he did.

It isn't like we had 30 yards in the 1st half..we had 3. Three. Unacceptable, PERIOD! Dropping back to pass would have resulted in Cassel being broken into pieces.

I don't know what game Fatlock and some others watched, but I saw one that showed me our O line was there in name only. Had we dropped back, which is exactly what Philly wanted, we would be cussing about the picks Cassel threw or the fact that Brokie would be the starter for the next several weeks cause of Cassel being hurt.

You've distorted my point. And this wasn't the whole basis of my argument.

My claim was this: try.

And I've said, repeatedly and in this very thread, that I wouldn't have pulled Cassel. However, HOWEVER, if you're that worried about him getting killed, which shouldn't be a concern, put in someone else.

Croyle, Thigpen, whoever. This was an ancillary point, not the basis of anything.

Try. I expect the coach to try.

But it does affect the credibility of your other arguments, when you have no idea that the third QB is usually inactive and is considered the emergency QB.... and is available upon the injury of the starting QB.

When he comes in though, it means that the starter cannot come back in the game.

I agree. I argued it helped our O-line just as much if not more than Thiggy. Of course the resident experts said that was wrong.

Exactly.... and like you alluded to before, when Herm did the same conservative stuff, some people hated it, and other people said "what do you want him to do, throw 40 yards down field every play and kill the QB?"... then I would reply "no, stupid, but something to get the 14 guys out of the box would be nice".

Maybe I want to like Haley a lot more than I want to like Herm, but come on...

Whitlock is right... next week, let's come up with a gameplan that resembles trying to win. We aren't a DI-AA team that's just happy to be on the big stage.

When you're down by a couple scores in the second half, in our case it was more. You have to throw the football and move the chains. Not run it 3rd n long and let the clock continue to run down. You need points. We weren't running anywhere to begin with. They were stopping LJ before he made it back to the LOS. What good is running the ball then giving Philly the ball back when we punt.

I understand we don't have any talent on the Oline except on the left side, and they've even been suspect this season so far. The Oline obviously limits what the offense can do. I undstand that and Haley knows that and commented on it in the presser. Having that said the way we approached the game in the 2nd half is NOT acceptable. We'd all be calling for Herm's head had he done that. But it's ok for Haley to do it?
