DJ still expects to be ready for camp
Chiefs ILB Derrick Johnson (Achilles') still expects to be ready for training camp.

The 34-year-old ruptured his left Achilles' in December. Johnson optimistically said he will be ready for camp in April, and he is not backing down a month later. "I'm on track, just like last time," Johnson said. "I never want to put a date on when I'm going to be 100 percent. But will I be at camp? I can say that, yeah." Even if he is "ready," Johnson will likely take it easy early in camp, but there does not appear to be any concern about his Week 1 status.

The only thing that has me optimistic that he can be productive his last year despite two repaired Achilles tendons is that Ray Lewis overcame crazy shit too... Deer Antler spray or not

I knew he was out of the pro bowl cause I thought he was getting something done. But probably just an injury he had and didn't want it to get worst so he skipped out.


The only thing I found was he had turf toe that's why he was out.

Doesn't seem legit.

An Achilles takes a year, usually...doesn't it?

I mean maybe he lesrned some tricks in recovering from his first Achilles tear, but it tore late in the year.

I highly doubt he ever plays again, but I'd be thrilled if he does.

He deserves to go on at least one more big run.

I'm sure there are varying degrees of a torn/ruptured Achilles. Maybe this one wasn't that serious.

That would be nice. In a perfect world, we get 1 last year of vintage DJ where he can help get his replacement ready by showing him how a true pro goes about his business throughout a whole season.

Am I the only one who is optimistic that our new NT will help in that area? I mean, I loved having Poe in there a few years ago, but he has declined in the last couple of seasons. Still, I will admit that I wish we had gone out and gotten a ILB to replace March or Wilson.
