Chris Jones should get the game ball if you don't give it to the entire DL.

Whole defense. Cooper and Lamb all game could’ve been in there and I still think we hold Dallas under 20. Total dominant performance. But individual it’s definitely CJ

No mention of Frank Clark? No doubt Chris Jones hands down deserves a game ball but Clark has been balling these last 3 to 4 games making the QB uncomfortable. He was giving their tackle fits all game so boys resorted to holding him. The refs looked the other way.

You don't play a game like that without everyone on the defense turning in a good performance.
Jones was the standout, for sure. I mean, 3.5 sacks, a FR (please, never try to return a fumble or INT ever again lol), 2 TFLs, and a PD that led to the Sneed INT. Guys can play a 10 year career and not have a game like that. Sneed was also great. He had that game-ending INT as well as that big hit he put on one of their receivers to jar loose what should have been an easy catch and 1st down. He also had a ton of other big plays. IIRC, he blew up a screen, which he's become so, so good at. He's not afraid to put his head in there and make the tackle. His potential really is top 3 CB in the league. He plays a lot like Jalen Ramsey without the extra shit. Bolton and Gay. I love them both. Gay's speed is just fantastic. I no longer fear RBs in the flats. It would have brought the house down if he had been able to secure that near-INT. And Bolton is such a sure tackler. Seriously. When he gets his hands on the ball carrier, the ball carrier goes down. You can't ask for any more from a 2-down rookie LB. Clark's first step is back to being elite. I think he takes himself out of too many plays by rushing too far up field, but he had a huge sack-strip and some pressures that were definitely making Dak uncomfortable. Ward also had a great game and I'm happy that Mathieu's knee didn't appear to be hampering him much, if at all. Only real complaint is that we're still putting Sorenson and Neimann out there, particularly on passing downs like 3rd down and late in games. Why? |
