I remember a few years back when his father was murdered. The young man showed a lot of poise and grace at the time. Happy for him and his family that he’s been resigned with a good contract. He’s a good player and deserves it.

Does anyone have access to the PFF grades for Winchester and Kendall Gammon? Very interested in knowing their average launch angles, average velocity, and location variability percentiles. I would love to put together a spreadsheet to prove out who was better. Also, I would like to know which one has a bigger dick.

I was at Winchester's first game as a Chief. Away at Houston. I was right behind their bench and a man in a Winchester jersey came by and was eyeing the players ahead of the game along with his wife. Naturally I figured these were his parents and struck up a conversation as I knew who James was given that CP hyperfocuses on the minutia of training camp. I then got an amazing view of a father who was so emotional that his son was about to play in the NFL. He was boasting and waxing about his son and how Reid said he was athletic enough to get some snaps on offense. He was so proud and it was so touching and genuine.

I can't believe not very long after he suffered that fate. But that day he was as proud as any father could be and I've kept that with me ever since.

Good for James.

I have absolutely no recollection of that name. At all.

If I’m remembering right.

Do all teams carry a guy specifically for long snapping? I mean, can Winchester play center or any other Oline position?

Every team has a long snapper. Been that way for awhile. Giving him $10K more a game to avoid a bad snap seems like good money well spent. Especially when compared to…. Clark. How much we paying him per game?

Bill Belichick is a cheater and a fraud, but he once gave a dissertation in a press conference about how blocking for a long snapper is very different than other types of blocking, and that (along with larger roster sizes and the desirability of having a special teams unit practicing together all day) is why long snapping became a dedicated position. He said it was also because if the long snapper played another position and then got injured, it created problems for two units.
