LOL at Houston people. There are literally people calling in expecting the Texans to sign Manning saying he'd be willing to sign for very little money to be with such a good team. Houston barely has the cap space to re-sign their starting center.

yeah; if you're going to go withe manning....put all your chips out there and see what happens IMO. Get him whoever he wants etc.

what's the worst that will happen? we'll end up in a cap pinch, and go 8-8, 7-9, 9-7, 6-10 in the post-Manning years? BFD. that's par for the course around here.

Depends on how much they cost IMO. After the tag on Bowe how much do we have left? 21M?

Speculations that I've seen say 13M/y for Manning is a starting point. How much will Wayne cost and will Manning take a discount if they are packaged?

If the rest of the team want's Manning, and what he could bring them in return, then contracts can be structured (Bowe) and restructured (other guys if necessary) to make things work.

And if I was Bowe, and Pioli says we are not going to bring in Manning because we have Cassel, I would give him the middle finger and ask for so much money that a contract agreement may never be reached with the Chiefs.

I don't think Wayne would command such a high price. He's up there in age (32 I think). of course, this is a Wild ass guess on my part. I just don't see him commanding earth-shattering/cap-shattering money.
