Alan,
That's the info I was getting from CNN. Since 3 of the other 4 flights have been accounted for, it has to be the one that crashed near the pentagon unless I missed something and CNN is incorrect.

This shows the WTC crashes:

This is CNN's chronology which is updated everytime something happens and confirmed:

Jim Moran D-Va says estimated death toll 10,000. In NY that is.

Back to the 'what can WE do in the meantime'

Blood donation lines in KC are currently too long to process today. Way to go, folks, be prepared to donate tomorrow or the next day.

There are a lot of folks trapped out at KCI, probably going to be stuck there. Anyone with room to spare, go out and pick up a potential CHIEFS fan.

Local talking heads are reassuring us that there is no outbreak of smallpox in the area, that the local mayor and firechief are in control, etc...fair enough.

Sign me up for a new pair of pants.

Just stepped out of my office for a bite of lunch. Walking in front of the St. Louis Courthouse in Clayton when a bus backfired BIG-TIME about 15 yards away. Bright sunny day and all these people ducking for cover, staring, point, dust billowing from under the bus, everyone unsure what was going on. It was actually just a backfire and no harm was done. Just another, more immediate, impression of what a horrifying situation we have here.

JC, that's why I carry a credit card. Either to buy new pants, or scrape out the old ones.:)

Dubya is leaving Barksdale presently.

5 vessels (a combo of battleships and destroyers) have left Norfolk to stand ready off the east coast. 2 aircraft carriers have left Norfolk and are enroute to NYC.

I think the CIA knows where Bin Laden is hanging out but has absolutely no idea about his network. The one caveat to wiping out Bin Laden is opening the flood gates for uncontrolled martyrs to unleash their fury with a larger scale attack.

Think about it for a moment. With our open borders, there is no doubt in my mind a nuclear threat is within the U.S.. Today's event is tragic but small potatoes to a nuclear strike.

It's the same with Saddam in Iraq. Far better to have some type of pseudo control and knowledge of who is the point man rather than acquire numerous splinter groups with his demise.

America is getting a reality check in the worst way today with this attack. These other nations deal with this on a daily basis. If you're going to take out these countries you had better go in with the full intent of bringing the ENTIRE country to its knees.

Problem is, we have too many doves in the political process to allow innocent people to get hurt for retribution purposes.

What was our response to the USS Cole?

Pan Am 103?

The first WTC bombing?

There in lies your answer.......

CalInjun - I would imagine that Bush Sr's biggest regret was not finishing Iraq. Bush Jr. will make something happen here, IMHO. There is a new regime. People can hate Bush Jr. as much as they want, but he DOES have a strong stance against terrorism. He and his staff will make a HUGE statement. Of this, I am confident.

On NBC it was one of the messages scrolling across the bottom. But I haven't heard anyone mention anything about it yet.

I wonder where the flight that crashed in PA was headed. I also wonder how many other hijack attempts were botched & abandoned due to cold feet/failed logistics..... Somehow, the resources to hijack a plane managed to find their way onto 2 Boston originating flights. Obviously, cleaning crews/food service crews were compromised in both Logan & Dulles. Time to find out which persons accomplished this. Time to revisit public hanging policies. It would be great to send these individuals skydiving without a chute.

Initial reports were that a smaller commuter plane was what crashed at the P.

MLB has cancelled all of today's games. At least they've done something right this year.
