norv is the man... a 10 year extension is what most of us Chiefs fans envisioned.

Marty is getting ready to coach in the shrine game.

Crennel will be the other coach.

Norv will go as far as Ron Rivera will let him go. I hope they lose him, that would make this abnormally juicy.

He's on Sirius with Solomon Wilcotts (The Red Zone) from 1pm to 3pm. He's adamant about never coaching again. Reading between the lines based on comments made on Sirius he was probably offerred the Billls job but turned it down. Seems to me that would have been the perfect scenario for him so he's probably being genuine when he's says he's through with coaching.

You know that other thread? Where everyone piled on the guy for not wanting to be a Chargers fan any more? How I and others said you have to support your team through thick and thin?

F**k that, dude. I changed my mind. Buy a Raiders jersey.

Wow. Good news for the other three teams in the AFCW and the other teams in the NFL. I dislike LT, so I can but laugh at the fact that the rest of his productive career is going to be wasted under Norv. No ring for you bitch.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I'm not a hater but I get it. He seems to do an awful lot of whining and pointing fingers for someone who has such a high opinion of himself.

Okay, maybe my comment was a bit optimistic. Wishful thinking perhaps. But the decision to go for the onside kick seems like a harbinger of bad things to come for Coach Turner. One of those watershed moments of fate that doom a coach's future with his current franchise. Hell, that play may have secured Norv a place on the next NFL Films epic fail highlight reel. We'll see.

But more importantly, a lot of Norv's talent came from Marty's drafts. [Two of the players you mentioned, Castillo and Merriman, were Marty's picks. Not sure who Brown is.] Will they be able to retain that talent? Replenish it? Can Norv win in SD with his own players?

But I do agree with you in that the dolts should be a good team next year as they'll likely retain the core of their talent. Here's the draft breakdown:

Norv

2009

1 Larry English
3 Louis Vasquez
4 Vaughn Martin
4 Tyronne Green
4 Gartrell Johnson
5 Brandon Hughes
6 Kevin Ellison
7 Demetrius Byrd

2008

1 Antoine Cason
3 Jacob Hester
5 Marcus Thomas
6 DeJuan Tribble
7 Corey Clark

2007

1 Craig Davis
2 Eric Weddle
3 Anthony Waters
4 Scott Chandler
5 Legedu Naanee
7 Brandon Siler

Marty

2006

1 Antonio Cromartie
2 Marcus McNeill
3 Charlie Whitehurst
5 Tim Dobbins
6 Jeromey Clary
6 Kurt Smith
7 Chase Page
7 Jimmy Martin

2005

1 Shawne "roidman" Merriman
1 Luis Castillo
2 Vincent Jackson
4 Darren Sproles
5 Wesley Britt
6 Wes Sims
7 Scott Mruczkowski

2004

1 Phillip Rivers
2 Igor Olshansky
3 Nate Kaeding
3 Nick Hardwick
4 Shaun Phillips
5 Dave Ball
5 Michael Turner
6 Ryan Krause
7 Ryon Bingham
7 Shane Olivea
7 Carlos Joseph

2003

1 Sammy Davis
2 Drayton Florence
2 Terrance Kiel
3 Courtney Van Buren
4 Matt Wilhelm
5 Mike Scifres
6 Hanik Milligan
7 Andrew Pinnock

2002

1 Quentin Jammer
2 Toniu Fonoti
2 Reche Caldwell
3 Ben Leber
4 Justin Peelle
5 Terry Charles
6 Matt Anderle
7 Seth Burford

Great Post. Marty sure did get some hits in his drafts.
