I remember several bad weather games over the years at Arrowhead.

For rain, the night game vs. Seattle. There was a famous picture of Derrick Thomas sitting in a big puddle of muddy water with his helmet off. Since my seats are on the front row, the water was cascading down the stairs like a waterfall and filling in around our feet. The water was above the ankle in about 10 minutes. I remember a punt hitting the turf and just going "sploosh" and sticking nose first into the mud. It didn't even bounce.

I also remember a bad rain game under Marty vs. New England. It rained so hard that my roof sprung a leak, and I missed the game. I was bailing gallons of water out of my attic.

There was a really bad rain game at old Municipal when the Chiefs played the Oilers, and both teams fumbled like six or seven times each. I think it set the all time record for fumbles in a game.

For cold, The Colts kicker who will remain nameless game was extreme. So was that 2008 game vs. Miami. I think the daytime high that day was five above. There were games where it snowed the night before vs. Denver and vs. the Atlanta Falcons where the field got pelted with snowballs.

I remember there was a November game under Gansz. We were playing Green Bay, both teams were tied for the worst record in football, so whoever lost was officially the worst team in the NFL. It was whizzing down rain, and not quite cold enough to snow. So the rain would get all over you, then freeze. Just miserable. And the Packers kicked our ass that day too... making us the worst team in the NFL on that day.

So indeed, 35 degrees and no rain or snow is a walk in the park!

I remember a game my brother and I went to in the 80s. It was late in the year and we had around a foot of snow a day or two before the game. Colder than shit and very few people in the stands. I seem to remember it was against the Chargers, but I can't find it. Maybe my memory is clouded. I can't imagine why.

Anyway, as I was looking through our past seasons on Pro-Football Reference, I see that we played Miami twice in the regular season in 1989. Week 13 and 16. Anyone know why that is?

Just take the metal cap off before you go...10 oz flask, should be plenty for the game.
