This One Bugged Me

How much more of a warning sign do you need? The season is over...again. Maybe next year. This team is always on the wrong side of the coin flip. It's not a bad streak at this point. It's a proven pattern. The wind are out of my sails.

I started to feel something, then Reid the bed in Oakland... Now I am back to not caring and just watch them for entertainment...

Cool if they win, but expect them to continue to be a bottom 5 NFL franchise.

same here.

a few years ago, I recognized that each year they Chiefs aren't winning the Super Bowl or even sniffing it. So for me, the season is really a dog and pony show anyway.

I used to get jacked up on Friday all day at work for Sunday. Sunday morning I was up at 7am; coffee, breakfast, sports pages, watching Sunday NFL Countdown etc; football all day. Now, I just don't care. A lot of it is what the NFL has turned into, but a lot of it is also knowing that the Chiefs are never in contention.

If they win a playoff game, 'maybe' I'll get a little more intersted, but until then...meh.

I remember those days... Were good times and feelings....

Now there is zero commitment from the franchise to be in contention or a successful on the field product...

Something died inside of me when they hired Herm... but like you said, maybe if they win a post season game, I will care again...

Until then, just laugh at the failures.

If the Chiefs were a perennial legit contender; this site and the city at large would be chaos. It would be beautiful, and I have no doubt every man, woman and child would be all-in. Nobody would be bitching about how pussified the league is if it were our team expected to score 35 ppg.

That's not our reality. We're a have-not franchise, and nothing I've seen from Dorsey and Co. so far has made me genuinely believe we're pulling out of that territory any time soon.

Yep. In fact, the follow up to last year's success this past off season only fortified that belief.

Don't get me wrong I still LOVE Sunday NFL,it's just that now it's all about trying to win some extra cash and the friends who join me in the gameroom feel the same and they have no problem if KC gets moved to a small tv and a better match-up is featured on the big screen.

One of the biggest frustrations for me is how many times our defense gets a hand on a pass, only to drop it. We have 4 interceptions through 12 games. Only team with less is NYJets at 3.

Also, last night how may damn 3rd and long conversions made by Denver? All of them? One or two for a TD.

Oh, I like to listen to the Chiefs Monday Night Party show with Mitch, especially after soul crushing losses, to listen to the blind rose colored glass wearing audience fanatics who whoop and holler and cheer and chant no matter what. I hope some night Mitch Holthaus just loses it, and brings in a big plastic trash can and makes them all drink a big batch of anti-freeze tainted Kool Aid.

man that was ****ing brutal. I was out there from 4pm to about 5 minutes in the 4th we left. Im still cold. So rediculous how shitty this team showed up for that game. Wow. That first half chiefs team was the team I thought we were going to be all season. Horrible oline protection, knowone to throw to, alex smith not being able to throw the ball anyway, and average to shitty db's. We need to make a lot of moves after the offseason or next year will be another bullshit season. Which im already prepared for. oh well, got spring training soon.

I do feel sorry for you bastards that sat through that cold last night. I went to the store at about noon yesterday and saw a bunch of bundled up ****s getting ready to head out to the game.

I was thankful it wasn't me then, but I know once the sun went down it had to be a frosty bitch. And I know how that feels when you've been out there for seven hours in that stuff.

Plus, the team is tied to Reid and Smith for at least 2 more years. Not much to get excited about, but one thing is for sure - come April/May the majority of the fan base won't remember 40 years of futility and every drafted player will be an automatic starter and upgrade and by gosh, KC will be competitive. (Until they break everyone's heart in late November, again).
This. The same people giving up in here will be the same ones turning the next Dee Ford into Derrick Thomas before he's off the podium

All that time to prepare, all the times that puke has beaten us, all that was on the line and all of it happening at home... and they came out, in the words of Dayze, and pissed straight down their leg... I honestly think Manning is in this teams head, I honestly dont believe that they think they can beat him.

All of that bullshit bravado and hope died in me last night, I'm sick of feeling and talking that way only to end up embarrassed the next day... this team doesnt deserve to win a ****ing thing this year, not a playoff berth and not a playoff win.

Every single one of them can kiss my ass.
Chumps yes, they even made an upgrade to there for a minute, but never, ever have they deserved to be called CHIEFS.

This whole organization has, in general, sucked so bad, for so long, that I really do believe in the conspiracy theory I concocted. Half the teams must lose every week. The Chiefs are one of those teams that need to be there with a semi shit competitive squad, make the playoffs every now and then then exit gracefully for the princes of the NFL to take their rightful throne.
