Why no bumping the WR's?

Why do we play such an "aggressive" defense but never bump he WR's? Especially against Manning? We didn't make him ever hold the ball and the one time we did...BAM!

WTF is with Sutton?

Overreaction Planet at its best again.

Here's an interesting stat for you:
-Total Chiefs games 12
-Total games where the defense gave up > 10 points in the second half: 3

Those 3 games? Game 1 vs. Tennessee, and Miami & NE (two games where we were blowing the team out in the first half).

And yet we're bitching about our defensive coach not making adjustments. Because we gave up 9 second half points to a top 5 offense. This has been a phenomenal second half defense.
Its a Pete thread. Seriously his are as bad as Debergs. Sutton was handed no CBs lost our #1 safety and best LB and he still has the D looking decent.

Other than rushing defense. Which will probably get worse if Poe is tired/worn out..

Yeah I honestly don't think Sean Smith is suited for bump coverage. The few times I've seen him do it, he's ineffective at slowing the receiver down, and he's even worse at recovering from it. It's just not part of his skill set imo.

I agree.

It's not good. Nowhere near it.

I ask this: Of this team's 5 losses, how many of them can we put squarely on the D?

Oakland and Denver. They torched our defense. Our offense is a liability due to lack of talent, but the glaring truth is our defensive line should be better than it is at stopping the run and we're not getting torched due in the passing lanes because teams can just run it down our throats. Our offense can do just enough (barring Andy going full reerun) to keep is in the game. We're built to sustain drives and prevent high scoring games, but Andy and his coaching staff is responsible for taking those sustained drives away from our offense. I'd also account the San Francisco loss partially on the shoulders of the defense as well.

Oakland for sure. Yeah, the offense and play calling was a hot mess in the first half, but they handed the defense the lead late in the 4th quarter. They promptly shit down their collective legs.

Denver scored 29 points.

KC had 150 yards, a mere 21 minutes of ball control, was 1-9 on 3rd down, and turned the ball over three times.

KC has one of the top pass D's in the NFL, but leave it to know it all CP fans to insist that they're not playing pass defense properly.

Reminds me when KC would lose a 44-45 shoot out and morons would blame Trent Green. Oakland didn't just beat KC. They exposed them. I expect KC to go 1-3 down this final stretch.

KC can't stop the run because we have two scrubs who suck playing inside. Well below average players. I'm shocked that Oakland was the first team to really attack the hole left by DJ's injury. It's been glaring to any KC fan that teams COULD run the ball on us, but simply were not relying on it enough. Now they are, and the result is what one would expect.

Another reason KC can't stop the run is because Sutton loves small sub packages more than the average DC, and teams like to run on passing downs because our personnel is so pass oriented.

People don't think Denver took the foot off the pedal a bit? Manning and the run game sliced thru the D at will to jump to an insurmountable lead.

I think Sutton's doing a decent job overall considering the talent and injuries, but I honestly don't think the D is as dominant as some of the statistics.

Right. They intentionally settled for only FGs the entire 2nd half.

GTFO

Yeah. That Oakland go ahead TD drive was inexcusable. Offense was horrible for most of the game, but they did come back and get the lead.

Like last season, teams figured out a way to expose our Defense. Last season Sutton did not adjust and we got our asses kicked last part of the season.

I wonder if he will adjust this season? Most likely not.
Teams are going to watch Peyton Manning film, and do as he did.

You can start playing the clock as well as the score.
